It had a lovely view but the service and food were average. One of the dishes we asked for wasn’t available and the vegetarian options weren’t great. One dish appeared to just be a frozen meal reheated. The portions were tiny considering the price. You would get better from an independent place. It was quiet but the service to order was slow and the staff felt stretched/undertrained.It’s a shame as it’s a historic place and we visited following on a trip (to the same pub) from 1995 but we wouldn’t go back.

We visited as a family for Sunday lunch. Wide range of food to choose from.Staff was pleasant and welcoming.Food was fresh and tasty.Would recommend to book a table, was busy on Sunday afternoon.

Booked for lunch whilst visiting Stratford for the day. Sat inside, as they were only serving drinks outside. Meal of cod & chips was lovely. It was nice & relaxed, staff were very pleasant. We had a lovely visit.

We visited yesterday. In "The Actors' Bar, we enjoyed a lovely lunch - baked potatoes with salad. And, of course a couple of beers!Lovely place with good service. Many thanks - see you again soon.

Booked a table here last Sunday. As it was chucking it down they managed to seat us earlier than our slot which was great! All the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the french onion soup to start which was delicious!! Good size portion too.Mains were sausage and mash and steak and ale pie. Both were really generous portions and very tasty. They noticed we were out if gravy and quickly brought us more!Loved the atmosphere in here and the staff made it even better by how they seemed to be so aware of what was going on even though it was busy!We will definitely be back again as soon as we are in Stratford next!

My dad used to drink here 50 plus years ago. I did 30 years ago and even worked here a short while as did my wife. So we know it well. Having not been for approx 10 years, a few of us went first week in January 2022, so the town was quiet...and the pub, very quiet as expected. It hadn't changed too much but had lost its character..it was like most other pubs we visited that night. Lacking its own identity. In fact most pubs that night could have all been owned by the same chain. Decent beer. Lovely location. Do go here. Just a shame it didn't feel like the lovely local country town pub it should be. Oh, and the pictures of actors on the wall from way back when...they've hung there for years and years and years and does it show more recent actors don't bother going?

Always enjoy a pint in the actors bar and it is very dog friendly.Last night I asked about ordering something to eat to be told I could not as it was bookings only. An odd decision considering the pub was a 1/4 full, it was only around 19.30 and a couple in the bar had just received their meals. Not the 1st time I have experienced issues with food here, so will stick to ordering drinks only.

Lovely riverside pub in Stratford between RSC Theatre and Holy Trinity Church. Called for a pint Sunday noon and sat on the small front terrace. Good range of beers. Nice pint of 'Mucky Mallard'. Very popular place. Deceptively spacious pub including large beer garden at rear. All meals required a table reservation. Didn't eat there but Sunday roast dinners looked lovely!
