Visited for lunch on Good Friday. Table booked for 1.00. Had drinks in the lounge, and we chose our food here, all good so far. We were asked to move to the dining room at about 1.20 where we waited for about 10 minutes before being told that the food was coming. We asked if we could have some bread and the maître d' said it was on the way also, it would be about 10 minutes. Bread came, then we waited and eventually our starters arrived at 2.05, which is too long from ordering. I should add that, at this point, we were the only table in the dining room, it was not a busy service. Mains also took a while, I had to pour the wine twice as the staff weren't attentive enough to spot an empty glass. Not a problem except the wine is not on the table, it's kept in the middle of the restaurant. If you're going to do that, make sure your staff have an attentive eye. Food was very average and nothing you'd make a special trip for again. The deserts were definitely the best part, my crumble was lovely. We had coffee, with petit fours but ordered twice as some wanted their coffee after the puds. They had obviously run out of the full selection second time around as only two types came out, the meringues lacking any filling unlike the first. We eventually left at 4.30 from a 1.00 booking. My wife had checked her coat when we arrived, and when we came back to reception it was thrown over the back of the receptionists chair. Not good!Nuthurst is in a lovely location, with a lovely interior and relaxing vibe. Having been here many times before this was not our usual experience but something has changed. They may just have dropped the ball this time, but it was enough for us to decide we won't be back soon.

A three star might shock some, but this is a very fair rating for the restaurant currently. Standards have dropped here at the nuthurst Grange, the starters are extremely small, my hamster wouldn't even be full. The mains are also quite small and for the price they stand at, they are disappointing. Dry pork belly, and a burger that looked like it came out of a van. It's still very nice to be here, the interior is still satisfactory to the eye. The food was just not up to par unfortunately. On top of all this, the service was poor, the table was booked for one, we received bread rolls at two.

A great place to go for Sunday lunch. Very friendly staff.

Only went for lunch here, the orangery was lovely & the staff great but we all had sandwiches & were a little disappointed as they didn't reflect their cost

What can I say. Not only did we have 1 but 2 weddings in a week at Nuthurst. Each time the help and attention to detail that all the staff displayed was outstanding. All the staff were professional and attentive at all times, whilst always being friendly and worked tirelessly to ensure both days went well. Despite all the challenges that covid threw at us you were amazingly sympathetic, flexible and moe than fair when changes had to be made. The rooms were spotless, the food exceptional and the service 2nd to none. You helped to ensure that everyone had a great time and that Daniel and Siobhan had the wedding they had dreamed of.We Really can't thank you all enough and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and restaurant. We hope you are now having a well earned rest and we look forward to visiting again soonSarah and Andie Fitch

Wonderful place for that special meal. The staff are very proffesional but at the same time very friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is outstanding and a great wine menu too. I have been here a number of times and the service and standard is always first class. I would recomend this place to anyone.

Be very wary about booking a wedding here. It ticked all our boxes - lovely staff, great building, good price - we thought we were really lucky to have found it. Then...3 months before our wedding, the fantastic wedding co-ordinator left after 15 years and we were left to deal with the new co-ordinator, who changed everything which made it obvious they didn't want our booking and they encouraged us to cancel if we didn't like it. We had booked for 180 guests in the main house (but not a formal sit down meal), we booked all the bedrooms, and we were promised a residents bar. We were then told that they wouldn't accommodate 180 guests in the main house but we could have the stables which would fit 180 as long as some of them were happy to eat outside - in February. We were told the residents bar was no longer an option but we could pay £350 for an extra hour on the bar if we so wished. We firmly believe that had our wedding been a more expensive event with a sit down meal at £70 per head, they would have honoured the booking but instead, we're left with 3 months to find a new venue in the busiest wedding year ever. Since this has happened, we have heard of a number of other people that have had similar situations with Nuthurst. It's a shame that greed will ruin this place and the reputation that they have built up - I only hope that more of the lovely staff leave and find happy employment elsewhere.

Incredible wedding venue, we have photographed countless weddings at Nuthurst over the years and the venue really has so much to offer. Multiple trendy modern barn areas, plus traditional wedding breakfast rooms in the Hotel itself. It has so many great spots for wedding photographs and the hen house is awesome for morning shots. Vanessa and the team are second to none and you will be extremely well looked after.

We hosted our evening wedding reception at Nuthurst and stayed in hotel afterwards as well. Vanessa was extremely helpful in organising our event ahead of the evening. Mo helped us arrange decorations and was a wonderful host. He also wrapped up our remaining cake allowing us to take it home in the morning. The food was lovely and plentiful. We and our guests had a wonderful time.We were very pleased and would definitely recommend

We used to use this venue for business meetings some 10+ years ago because it was always excellent !In retirement, we returned with fond memories and were delighted to find the highest standards are still maintained.Really impressive from the grounds to the rooms to the communal areas to the restaurant but also amazingly good value. We will return again with family and friends.Cannot recommend it highly enough ☺️
