Booked a table of 7. Checked the booking in the week by popping in and called the day before to see if we could increase it to a table of 9 which the gentleman explained it would mean we couldn't have 1 table and it would be over 2 tables so we left it as 7.On arrival the gentleman said oh you were the table we didn't have a time for yet I could see clearly it said 3:15 in the diary next to our names so there was no table for us. We waited for a table to leave and were then sat over 2 tables. The food came out 50 minutes after ordering and was luke warm. We had to ask for mint sauce and a small pot arrived with no spoon to serve it so we just tried to pour it leaving enough to share. We also asked for napkins which they were unable to supply as they didn't have any! We never had another table check and the plates were cleared. We waited for a further 20mins to see if there was a desert menu but no one came so we just went up and paid the bill at the bar and left! It was a very disappointing birthday meal that as much as I would like to recommend and find something good in I can't!

Beautiful pub with a good outdoor area and the bouncy castle is a really good idea for the kids.. food isn't as good as it could be but good drink and atmosphere..

Very handy for town and our hotel. Chicken, ham and leek was lovely, certainly would have it again. Pub was nice and clean with friendly staff and prices were extremely reasonable. Thanks for a great meal.

I was asked to elaborate on the 3 stars. Several items on the menu were not available as it was an old menu (both on the website and being handed out), we had chosen the place based on the menu suiting all those that were travelling, there was an extremely long wait for food, some people in the group were starting to get vocal about wanting to go home and cancelling, the food was chased several times, it was one of the longest waits for food to be brought out that I can remember anywhere, the food was okay but not worth the wait, the service was okay. It was almost a two star rating but 3 is usually seen as an okay and 2 felt a bit harsh. The company was good.

Wonderful landlord went out of his way to provide a table for 6, in the outdoor covered heated area, when we thought we had booked a table. Recommend the Sunday roast. Choice of meats see the menu. Have vegetarian and gluten free options on some meals Great location

What a shame this nice pub doesn't have any real English beer - some reviews are misleading on this front. Had a Spanish lager which was ok. Not worth the walk out of town! Does have a Jukebox and real fire. Didn't have food so comment on that.

Nice pub! The food is good and the service was very quick. Dogs are welcome and we literally spent a lot of hours there. There was a bouncy castle up for kids on weekends. There's also free parking at the back of the pub, which is convenient.Highly recommend 👌

The food was really nice but no masks, no cleaning I could see, no hand gel, very crowded and I felt unsafe. When I used the table service option (with the idea that I would wear a mask until I sat down) the staff seemed a bit shocked like they didn't understand why I was doing that. Sunday lunch was nice but I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I could have because I didn't feel safe. I appreciate this may be a local and not for tourists (I'm a tourist) but it wasn't the most enjoyable experience.

We went here as it's close to where we're staying. I'd read other reviews and noticed the mixture of good and bad. We took a chance and were very happy. The staff were friendly and nice, the food we had was lovely - scampi and the nachos. Desserts were good too. There was a good selection of beers. Would happily go back.I got a couple of pics of the menu as of today (26.09.18) as the web site didn't want to work earlier.I noticed a nice looking outdoor bar area which wasn't open when we were there but looked good none the less (picture included here).

Nice pub, good beer, lovely outdoor space and loads of parking. Point deducted for food - I ordered a bowl of 'spicy parsnip soup' there and when it arrived it was basically roughly shredded parsnip in hot water with a splash of hot sauce! Visit for the beer and the beer garden, not the food!
