Very friendly people needs updating

We visited this pub this weekend as it was close to where we were staying. Unfortunately no food available but the manager said they were working on this and advised us of where we could eat. We did eat elsewhere but came back to the Shakespeare because we liked it. It’s a proper pub! No gimmicks, good atmosphere, lovely people! The staff were great, the manager very helpful and we will be going back on our next weekend away!

Pretty little pub with a 'no frills' beer garden. Staff were nice but sadly no food as the landlord and landlady were covering until the next permanent landlord/landlady arrive.

I went to this pub today For the time all I can say I was made welcome, I needed to get back to Stratford the lady that worked there was very kind ringing for taxis. I would also like to thank the very kind local man that drove me backKind RegardsJane

A wonderful old style village pub with a welcoming atmosphere.

The Shakespeare is a friendly country pub that we had not visited for a couple of years. Superficially it has not altered much as far as lunchtime visits go though the menu has changed. They still do really good basic meals and I had a particularly good pint of London Pride! Anyway we liked it before and we still like it!

Amazing food and welcome :)

Food is really nice. Unfortunately that's were the good points end. Local pub run by a co op of locals who bought it according to my holiday guide. Went for a night with my family . Sat ourselves down no clear instructions on if we would be seated or seat ourselves a local told us in the end in a sarcastic manner.Lady next to me another local went to the bar and kept looking to make sure I wouldn't take her laptop. In the end I announced loudly I wasn't a thief and I would prefer not to be stared at everytime she went to the bar. She promptly left.Locals are not that friendly or welcoming to outsiders . You will be made to feel like an outsider.Lastly there was no butter for my bread or olives on my bread and olive tray. No explanation of why or offer of a reduction in price. Overall not a pleasant night at all couldn't wait to get back to our holiday cottage and make myself a dessert.If your a non local stay away you won't be welcome.

This type of pub is becoming very rare. Cosy village pub full of character and characters serving simple but great tasting food and good beers.What you see and what you get is a good old fashioned community pub with very friendly staff who make the 'visitor' feel very welcome

Big smile from barmaid as soon as we walked in. Locals at bar didn't look at us as if we were from Mars. Having walked 3 miles we wanted a bag of crisps, a pint and a warm welcome. That's what we received 😎
