Shipston Fish Bar in Stratford-on-Avon

Hands down worst chippy I’ve ever been to in my whole life. The chips were hard and rubbery. I paid £8 for 2 small chips and a fish cake and to be honest I wanted to throw it in the muppets face who works behind the counter. Who by the way was shouting in the street about being a stoner trying to look cool but he is clearly a nobody

Awful, worst chips in my life tasted like rubber. Never again! Honestly picking a potato out the ground and eating that would of been more satisfying.

This is our local fish bar. It's very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and the food is top quality. My partner is a huge fan of their battered Halloumi. You can place orders over the phone for collection and they accept contactless payments.

Large fish was basically all batter, cooked too much, not much cod inside and was dry... wife had a couple of bites didn't eat much wasn't nice, buying for family isn't cheap..

Chips are a little 'bitty'... otherwise it would have been 5 stars..

Chips were good. Donner meat was far too overcooked for my liking.

Great food, great portions and great price. No wonder it's so popular!!

Quite possibly the worst fish and chip shop I’ve ever been to.I happened to be I working in Shipston for the morning and as my sister in law lives there so we all went over.Walking in town you could smell the chippy which to be fair smelled good.Calling in on a Saturday lunch time it was empty ,the fish in the cabinet looked ok .so we ordered, waited 10 mins for roe .Getting back to the house to tuck in it was evident the chips (lots of them ) were reheats, burnt ,rubber like and bloody awful, my fish was passable but had obviously been sat there for a while and in flavourless batter. My family said the roe was fine .could not taste any salt or vinegar either.An utter waste of £20 and a disappointing experience.

This is a fine chip shop. The small fish was a good size and very tasty. Two of us shared a large portion of chips, it was massive and surely enough for a third person!

One of the best chippies I've been to.Always seems to be busy which means the food hasn't been laying in the warmers for any length of time, nice white fish and the batter is always lovely and crisp. Also do kebabs southern fried chicken and burgers.The daily specials are a great price for what you get; chips, mini-fish, small sausage and choice of beans, peas or curry sauce.Don't make the mistake of thinking you need to order a bit extra as the portion sizes are amazing.
