The Broom Tavern in Stratford-on-Avon

We were a party of 7, and had this highly recommended. We were not disappointed when we went last Friday. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good. Some had starters, we all had the main course, and some had desserts, there were no negative reviews from any of us. Would we go there again, DEFINITELY YES YES YES.

I don't each much meat these days but decided to have the roast beef for mothering Sunday lunch. It was so tender and flavoursome. The meal and as excellent just a little slow on service but appreciate it was very busy.

We were staying in the village for a wedding and visited The Tavern twice. Once for drinks and dessert, and the next day for tea.There was a good selection of drinks, especially for a small village pub and the food was fantastic. We both had burgers and a chocolate plate and would very much like it if the chef wanted to move up North!Service was speedy and friendly, and the prices were great value for the food quality.

This gastropub dates back to the days of William Shakespeare but, having laid empty for some time, it was reopened by two chefs in 2012.Stopped by for drinks on a Saturday afternoon in February. Enjoyed the well-kept HPA but would have preferred a more traditional bar setting as all of the tables were setup for diners. There is a lovely outdoor area and also a marquee, and this clearly gives drinkers more options when the weather is warmer.Returned later that day as part of a much larger group for dinner. Despite the entire place being full of diners, service was efficient, attentive and very friendly. I was slightly disappointed with my main, the pesto tagliatelle carbonara, because the ‘added pulled chicken’ didn’t resemble its name and appeared to replace most of the vegetarian ingredients; overall a little bland and too stodgy. I did enjoy my mussels starter and everyone else was complimentary about their choices.Overall it was a very good experience but not quite worthy of a 5-star review.

Treated to a fabulous Rack of Lamb and dauphinoise potatoes by a lovely friend today. Food was delicious and the service excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Good variety of menu and value for money.Delicious food, great presentation - the chef is incredibly talented. A proper country pub atmosphere and decor. Kirsty and staff were very welcoming and efficient service. They also welcome dogs.

Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Really good all round presentation. Puds were fab too. A warm inviting atmosphere ran by a polite and professional team. Will definitely return.

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch. Service was excellent. When I telephoned to book, they promised we wouldn’t have a long wait, despite having a large party at the same time. True to their word, food was delivered without any delays and was delicious.Very generous portions, so tasty. Best Sunday lunch we have had for while. Thank you Mary & Phil
