The Folly Inn in Stratford-on-Avon

Got a table last minute as we originally booked the River and Cocktails Cruise, staff extremely helpful, good vibe inside, very busy inside and out on the Dock, food I can only describe as excellent, enough time between courses without feeling rushed, if your in Oxford this would be on my to do list for visiting.

Overall ok experience.We came for an afternoon tea and despite quite a busy day we were accommodated on the terrace without prior reservation. Thanks for that.The prices were ok for Oxford at around £23 per person for tea.The tea itself was mediocre. Made with teabags, and in dirty cups - both not acceptable at such a place.The sandwiches were ok but a little dry, and the cakes didn’t offer much balance in terms of flavor and variety. Everything was reasonably tasty, but nothing too good to remember or come back for.The location is what sells the place, but the food was average at best. Next time would come for a cup of coffee at the river, but no more.

Celebrated my Mum's 70th with a cruise and dine from Oxford River Cruises and The Folly restaurant. Highly recommend this trip. The cruise guide Joe was brilliant. After the cruise you have a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was delicious. The staff all really looked after us. Would definitely do it again.

We took a high tea boat ride for approximately 1 hour+. We were explained the areas of interest while cruising through the river Thames. It was a lovely trip and I loved the scones.

We had dinner there and our table was right by the river. Lovely surroundings, with attentive, friendly staff. Food came quickly and was superb! I would highly recommend going there if you're ever in Oxford.

We took a half our cruise, they served drinks. The skipper informed us of what we saw. It was very scenic. Then we had a beautiful delicious meal at the restaurant. I loved it.

We done the cruise and dine in the evening. The boat ride was brilliant and Evi the skipper and guide was fun, knowledgeable and really made the trip. The dinner after was excellent. Beautiful location, great staff all made for a super evening.

Had dinner at The Folly for my brother's wedding in January. We were a small wedding group of immediate family members (~15 people, including 2 infants) and we had a wonderful time here! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely and polite! Would definitely recommend!

Gorgeous spot by the river with a great wine, cocktail menu with amazing vegan options! The vegan snickers is possibly the best plant based dessert I've ever had.

It's decent food, but not spectacular. You'd think for a group of 4 spending £300 on 4 mains, 3 starters and 3 deserts I'd be amazed. I wasn't. Service is awesome and the views on the Thames can't be beat. Just can't give it 5 stars based on views and service alone.
