Located right by the water in Amington village, our pub is perfect for lazy summer afternoons and cosy winter nights. Come in for lunch with the family. The little ones will love the children’s play area and the kids’ menu. Meet friends for a few drinks—our drinks selection is second to none. Atmosphere and staff was great. Food reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. Allowed us to stay in our campervan overnight. No problem. Would recommend

Popped in for a quick bite, parking on site and lots of spaces. The pub was busy, but the staff were great and were able to seat us really quickly. Staff were friendly, available and polite, we can’t fault it.But sadly the food was really basic and average, nothing exciting, worth making the trip to or would return for.We ordered a chicken burger and beef burger with a side of classic curly fries. We also had 1 drink each and shared a pudding for under £20, so the price was great, but reflected in the food. It’s great if you just want to grab a bite and can’t be bothered to cook, but I personally didn’t enjoy as it wasn’t fantastic.

A fantastic dog friendly pub situated along the canal.Great food and staff with a good standard of regular live entertainment.A lovely hidden gem in Tamworth and well worth checking out.Absolutely would recommend.

·

The staff and the food as always was exceptional. The only fault was with the chicken strip starter, as a person who does not like spicy food i found them far to hot, I did express this to the waitress and was told they couldn't get the ones they usually have from there usually supplier, so I'm happy with that explanation. 10/10.

I’ve been coming to the gate for around a year now, and every time is always an enjoyable experience. The staff all work hard and the food never disappoints. Teasha and the team are a credit to this pub

Simply put, it's a great, fun, relaxed local pub that I can bring the puppy to meet the locals and enjoy a point and some great food.10/10 would recommend.Teasha and the team have been absolute stars.

We enjoyed our visit and the welcome we received. Despite some items missing on the menu our food was well cooked and tasty. we had booked our table and the staff had reserved us a table. There was a good atmosphere in pub and the staff were welcoming and attentive.

We needed somewhere to park for the night and chose to stop here. What a great choice. Liam welcomed us and made us feel at home, even though there are obviously many regulars. Our food was so tasty. The steak was really tender and the curry was lovely. It was good to find vegan ice cream, something my lactose intolerant husband was able to enjoy!Stephen made sure that our every need was met and achieved that difficult balance between a waiter being on hand or hovering!I am told that Richard was in the kitchen cooking and high praise for him, too.All in all an excellent find and we will be back, even though we live 400 miles away, it will be on our map!I would love to come in summer and sit by the canal under that fabulous willow tree.

Not a bad pub at all - the staff are absolutely awesome people and the beers are really well-kept. A good selection from the Marstons brewery. Beautiful views of the canal and you can watch the boats go by.Sadly, the food is really hit and miss, with each of our meals being a bit dissapointing. The burgers were very poor quality (tasted as if from frozen) and the lasagne was a very small portion.
