The venue is a tired and grubby looking. The decor is in need of some attention. There appeared to be issues with the kitchen being able to keep up with demand. There were delaying tactics in place to try and stem the flow of customers to the carvery. The food served was at best warm. It was not hot food. The floor around the carvery area was covered in food. We had a very attentive waitress who came to clear our plates as soon as we put our cutlery down. She asked if we wanted dessert and we ask for a few minutes. We had to beckon her over 25 minutes later. The staff seemed anxious - I don't know whether there was a manager observing them but they seemed to be trying to not mess up but were messing up. All in all, the food presentation could have been better, the cleaning better but the place just needs a revamp.

Absolute feast. Delicious. Everything was top quality, fresh and hot. Super service by all. Really enjoyed it. Will be back for more. 👍

The actual carvery was of a high standard and very enjoyable. I do feel however that the staff (except for one) were not very welcoming creating a flat atmosphere. Also staff attire left alot to be desiredThey need to present themselves much better in my opinion in order for the Toby reputation to be upheld.Fortunately the food was good.

Not a great first impression. 5 of us were sat at a booth which they assured us was big enough for 6. Yet the table was the same size as the 4 person setup beside us, additionally they only set 4 places in our booth, it took 15 minutes to get a drink order and another set of cutlery. The dining experience was cramped to say the least. Things did not improve when we joined the food queue. 5 hours before they stop serving, there was no pork or gammon. Credit to the team of chefs, they were professional and put on a brave face to the queue of disappointed diners. What food was left; beef, turkey and all the veg, was cooked well.Overall, based on this experience, I will not be returning in a hurry. I have been to many Toby's over the years. This sadly was the worst.

The only criticism I have is that there is always a very large queue out of the door which on a cold day with elderly relatives isn't good. There appeared to be lots of empty tables, so feel they should clear the queue quicker. We had a table booked, as did others but wasn't seated until after time booked and others didn't eat until over an hour later than booking. The food was lovely except the beef on one meal wasn't good but staff compensated for this.

We were told they had no space to accommodate us; after some time they managed to find a table (the restaurant was not busy at all, +15 or more tables visibly empty). After waiting 10 minutes to even be approached we were told we had to wait to be asked to"visit the breakfast deck", only when they give us the green light. We were sat at the table for another lengthy period of time and then told we could go and get breakfast.Nothing cooked, only bacon. Every tray empty, bread all over the floor. We asked if they were planning on adding more food, they responded saying "you can have the bacon?".After sitting back down (waited +30 minutes at this point with no clear indication of when food will be restocked) we asked the colleague when they would be adding to the breakfast, they then said we are closing breakfast now?!They had clearly stopped cooking the food 45 minutes before the breakfast was finished. We had been given a table for breakfast and they knew they weren't going to serve this to us.I can't really review the food because we had none, the colleague service was poor. No management in the establishment.I'd like to say I would give the place or Toby Carvery another chance however from this experience alone I wouldn't. I have been to precious Toby Carvery locations and have had similar experiences.

We enjoyed a family meal mid week. Delicious, varied vegetable choice and generous amount of carvery meats. The children always walk away feeling full and with a smile. Friendly and attentive service from Sarah at this Wellington restaurant.

We visited today as we were in the area, very welcoming when we arrived, the lady who was at the door when we got there was lovely and went above and beyond with our sons allergies, I asked if we could have a corner table as our son has special needs and was having a bad day, the lady found us one, the drinks came in a timely manner and food was amazing, it was hot and fresh, couldn’t fault it at all. very nice clean welcoming pub with great staff, hope to pop in again when we are back in the area.

Want to say a massive thanks to Tash, who was Possibly the nicest and most attentive waitress we had ever encountered, she was fantastic!Vegan food option here is really decent and the food itself is hearty! And it’s such well priced! Will be back.

Food was reheated to the point the mac and cheese was dry, rubbery and burnt, the mash was dry, the roast potatos were burnt to the point they were black and solid, the garlic potato and carrots were burnt, there was also something hard and grey/black in a chicken nugget. We complained and the woman wasn't happy that we waited till the end to complain, I was not happy with how put out she seemed by this. She did take money off the bill and give my kids ice cream and us hot drinks so that's what the 1 star is for, but I will never return.
