We were a party of 5 for afternoon tea for my lovefriends 40th Birthday. There were loads of sandwiches great selection of cream scones and cakes. An endless amout of tea and coffee refils. The staff were most polite and helpful. Would recommend it and will go again.

I hadn't fully appreciated the location of this hotel and having arrived and stayed, I felt very blessed by the experience. I would go again without hesitation. Great views, lovely bedroom with perhaps the most comfortable mattress (firm), that I have had at any hotel. Breakfast and Dinner were great for me but my husband wasn't as happy but he didn't make any special request. In spite of that he too loved the stay there and would be very happy to revisit. The staff were very friendly. Our thanks to Martin and the Team.

Had a great weekend with all my friends. Love the calamine vanilla and honey tea that I have for breakfast on the Saturday morning with my breakfast felt I was at having my mug of honey with hit water, wasn't impressed with the raspberry and strawberry tea that's I had on Saturday night and Sunday morning, the evening meals were great, even slept with the window open.

The hotel has a delightful garden and is surrounded by trees. It was very clean and spacious. The bedroom too had a lovely amount of space and plenty of chairs to sit on. The room overlooked the garden and had its own balcony. The only downside was that it was a bit chilly..draughts from the French windows and the radiator was not particularly hot.The evening meal was to a high standard as was the breakfast. I enjoyed my stay and I would recommend the hotel to others and yes I would stay again.

Reception & bar staff very nice & helpful. Manager abrupt & quite rude. Staying with other people for birthday celebrations but none of the rooms we had had any hot water so couldn't shower. Given partial refund on room when booking out. Needs a re-vamp

They cancelled on us the night before and terrible management! We had booked here months ago for a birthday getaway and had a call from the hotel the day before- cancelling the booking due to the hotels boiler being broken!?Looks like this is a reccuring issue here from all the other reviews on here. I completely understand this issue as a one off, however surely this should be sorted asap!?The main issue for me wasn't even the fact that I had to find alternative accommodation the day before and pay triple the price I paid here!! It was actually how they dealt with this. The lady who called me was rude and not helpful. I asked to speak to her manager- who promised me a call back from her general manager as she couldn't do anything to help. Not even offer advice on alternate accommodation or even as much as a sincere apology!I am still waiting for the call back days later- I doubt this will come.If they actually had decent customer service this would not be such a massive issue.Even the lady I spoke to on the phone to book originally seemed rude and unbothered. Not friendly at all- so I guess it's actually great we had this stay cancelled, as it seems all the reception staff and management have the same attitude.Avoid and choose elsewhere.

Very nice hotel, lovely breakfast, lots of nicer rooms with balconies and views. Well positioned for a trek round the Wrekin.

From the moment we arrived all the staff we excellent, you can train staff to be good in their jobs but ýou can't train them to be nice and they were all lovely i can't praise them enough for a fantastic stay. The whole of the hotel was spotless you could see a pride was taken with the cleaning. We had breakfasts and evenings meals and they were great value and so good. Worth the money overall a fantastic stay i can heartily recommend this hotel and we will definitely be returning

Christmas party. All-in drinks. The staff were amazing. Polite, friendly, quick and efficient. Christmas meal was nice - it was as you'd expect, tasty but nothing to really rave about.I would most definitely have another Christmas party there next year. Lovely location for it, the scenery around and off the grounds is wonderful. Thank you to the team.

Stopped for one night whilst we visited friends locally. The grounds looked well worth exploring but the October weather was against us. There are plenty of walks around the Wrekin, useful as this is a dog friendly hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the buffet style breakfast was excellent. Would happily stay there again.
