Never been here before, however we came here on Easter Sunday and it was lovely. Most of the staff were kind and always smiling (there was one male waiter though that constantly looked moody or unhappy), the food was lovely, chips were a little bit on the colder side but were still nice, and the rest of our food was very tasty at good prices. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

What a fantastic atmosphere, staff were lovely, Manager was the best I have seen in a long time! We enjoyed a thoroughly wonderful evening with their Easter entertainer- Paul the saxophonist, well done the Woolpack! ❤❤❤

We booked a table for this evening two weeks ago for a 21st birthday meal to be told 45 minutes before we were due to be seated that they had double booked absolutely ridiculous and totally unprofessional I can only assume nobody could be bothered to check they weren’t double booking people in or didn’t care. We were offered £20 off not much good without a table and then the member of staff couldn’t even be bothered to call back when he said he would to see what he could do.

Normally a good venue ...but today (Sat)chaos) ...running a promotion...rugby on the tv..late pm /early evening. Only ONE person behind the bar!! Not very good planning. When you run a promotion...staff accordingly please.Took an HR just to order food! APP not working (accepting voucher code)! Then had to wait for food !!!

Our first visit here. Didn’t really get much of a greeting, the waiting staff were busy shouting across the restaurant to each other. We got shown to a table and then left without any explanation, no offer of drinks, no-one told us it was bar service only. The food took a little bit longer than I’d like but not ages, and was actually worth the wait when it came. Nice and simple once we knew what we were dealing with.

Food was gorgeous. However, it took 2 hours to get our main course

The starters were lovely... it went downhill fast from there. There were several items missing from our plates during our mains and they didn't get either of the stakes rarity remotely close to what was asked. I asked for rare and the stake almost had no pink in it. We decided to overlook this as a one off. Sadly, they then forgot about us for 45 mins after we ordered desserts. I had to go up to the bar and ask if everything was ok. The guy told me he would go check for us. He then came out a few minutes later and we were told what we'd asked for wasn't in stock. I asked to have a substitute which was cheaper than my original order. I was told I could have an extra brownie or scoop of ice cream with this to compensate the price. Moments later, what I assume was the manager, came out and said this was not allowed. Which I feel was a pathetic excuse after waiting 45 minutes for some ice cream and a reheated brownie. We were told that the original item would be refunded and that they would instead charge us for the brownie instead of the ice cream sandwich. We are still waiting on a refund for the ice cream sandwich. The fudge cake was as stale as a shower loofah and the brownie was small and like eating glue paste and required me swilling my mouth out with my drink in order to swallow. Service wasn't great - we had 9 glasses on our table at one time for only 3 people at the table. Took forever to get anything taken from the table, and we were not checked on once. I sadly do not recommend this place at all as I once would have. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere.

Went here today with our walking group. Party of 11 of us. Everyone was very pleased with the venue and the food which was well cooked and excellent value. The staff were lovely. We will be back.

Not quite as enjoyable as pre-pandemic but no doubt being short staffed (recruiting) and short of stock (experienced this in other places lately) doesn't help matters. Perfectly pleasant staff and food was fine.

Terrific Sunday evening meal. Couldn't get in at Toby Carvery and probably a blessing in disguise. Loaded nachos to start followed by a burger. Staff couldn't do enough to make sure our 11 month old had a good time.
