Ablewell Fish Bar in Walsall

Plan was to get a chippy as we were in a rush, ordered to collect and turn up to find they dont take card? Meaning we had to walk round to find a cash machine nearby (decent walk away). Not many ice cream vans that dont take card these days let alone an established business premises, took the convenience out of a takeway for us.

Best chippy in town. I do not go any where else. Would recommend to anyone.

First class food establishment. Very friendly staff and perfect food.

Incredibly rude staff, have never been so insulted before in a takeaway for asking a simple question. Food was Incredibly greasy, the fried chicken was dripping with oil and I was able to measure out a double shot glass of oil just by lightly squeezing the chicken after removing the crispy coating. Worst chip shop I have ever been to.

Visited Ablewell Fish Shop on Wednesday at around 7.45pm on 9th March 2022.Although I ordered a small chips, 1 steak and kidney pie, large gravy sauce and 1 chicken and mushroom pie, when I returned home and opened the chip paper I was given all the order correctly other than the steak and kidney pie which was a Beef pie.I rang the fish shop around 8.03pm however, as they were not answering due to closing I decided to call Ablewell the next day. I rang on the 10th March around 1.36pm and they wanted proof. I just wanted them to know about the mistake. I won’t be going there again as they don’t know how to communicate .Please see proof of the phone call I made yesterday to Ablewell to inform them of their error.Couldn’t upload the picture as proof that I was trying to contact Ablewell.

Food was fresh as usual tasted good with flavour the chips were undercooked though could fill how they wnt filly cooked in th middle however the meals were still good

Still the best chippy in Walsall. Always fresh n tasty .Very generous portions. Highly recommended

Best for fish and chips in Walsall, im yet to have better fish and chips anywhere tbh!Chiken meat is banging as well.Only downside is they dont take card :(

Very friendly staff and manager, plus tasty food. As a vegan, I am not a regular chippy customer (except for chips every now and then) but here I had a veggie burger (without cheese) and chips and it was just what I needed after a long day's work!

Need to sort out the grease in the food. Sometimes the food is pretty good. But mostly it's super greasy. I know it's a chipshop but if there's anyway to negate grease that would be great. Girls work very hard, very polite and customer service is excellent 👌🏻
