If you haven’t tried it, TRY IT! (and if you have, then you know it’s such a lovely desert)Oh and a massive selection of drinks.The Mermaid have officially took over

Food turned up cold, wasn’t eatable, chips weren’t cooked properly put a complaint in. Won’t be ordering from there again. AVOID THIS CHIPPY

Rang up to tell them my problem as the kebab was pink and obviously still cold they argued with me told me I was wrong cuz they've just done it. I can see it in my hands surely the kebab ain't meant to look like this?? Looks and smells like dog meat

What an experience, if I could only give it six stars I would. Definitely a place I would eat on a regularly basis. Staff and business owners were amazing, food was on point and the prices were unbeatable. Definitely would recommend to other people around the area, eventhough I had to travel, it was worth the travel. Superb!

If only I could give a zero star review...A place which openly doesn’t care about the fact that they fly-tip in neighbours gardens and leave an abundance of off food in bins that are simply dumped in front of peoples homes. No decorum from the owner and staff, when confronted they are simply spine-less and face-less. With a want-to-be gangster attitude and not enough honour to even keep their word, this really is the place to avoid. This attitude reflects in the food too, which is unremarkable and non-inspired on it’s best day (and there are few of those “best” days.)Wouldn’t even pay for the food in washers, let alone use this establishment ever again. Been going to this chip shop for about 14 years and now it’s in turmoil. I wonder why. Less of a mermaid fish-bar and more of a murmur.In conclusion,Bad owners and bosses equates to bad business.-Also, don’t fly tip especially when it’s been caught on multiple cameras and don’t send staff out to lie through their teeth. You’re a chip shop, not a cartel - drop the big man act next time someone tries to be civil, cause you simply look like fools.

Absolutely terrible service and rude staff, I am left shocked. I has no choice but to select a star, but I would definitely not recommend this place, thank goodness there's loads of fish and chip shops in Aldridge.Experience..Ordered simple chips with chilli and mayo for delivery..the chips came without any sauce.My husband called the chip shop and was told they will send a driver with the sauce, he will take the bag of chips and pour the sauce on and then give it back. How unhygienic is that? That would not pass food standards.I called the chippy back and said we would like a fresh bag of chips with the sauce as these chips have now gone cold . The response was, not doing that, the delivery driver is on his way to bring the sauce, there's other customers to serve.45minutes later...and still no driver with sauce has turned up. I was told to have the cold chips.

Awful! They gave battered chips when wanted plain. So soggy and extremely oily chips! It looks as though they fry the chips in the same batter as their fish. The potatoe quality very poor. The donner meat is the poorest I have ever tasted, very underdone and slimey. Never again.

Their meals are ok. But I don't like the fact that I usually end up with too many bad bits in the chips. Even when I ordered online, and had a meal delivered, there was about 1/5 of the chips with bad bits in. I do like their battered fish, and their beef and onion pasty. If you ask, they will fry some plain chips for you, otherwise it is battered chips.
