🏠 188b Chester Rd, Streetly, Sutton Coldfield B74 3NA

"The Streetly Balti was established in Streetly, Sutton Coldfield in September 1993. It was the formation of a partnership between three brothers Jamal, Imam, and Shab. The menu was the conception of Imam Uddin and is now being continued and updated by current Head Chef, Rayhan. Indian food is still one of the nation's most popular types of food due to its diverse use of flavours provided by the utilisation of fresh herbs and spices. Each region of India has its own style of cooking and distinct flavours. The North is known for its tandoori and korma dishes; the South is famous for hot and spicy foods; the East specialises in chilli curries; and the West uses coconut and seafood, whereas the Central part of India is a blend of all. Absolutely lovely meal at Streetly Balti last night. Great to go somewhere local with a menu that is different from your regular Indian restaurant and good for money. We will return

The food was delicious and the head waiter made time for us on a busy Friday evening to discuss religion, food, and (ironically) fasting. A really heartwarming experience!

·

Absolute gem of a place, one of the best places I have been with amazing attention to detail and customer service. The food honestly is some of the best you will have in the city.

Great place to come and eat. The owner has recently redesigned the menu to make it more authentic and the dishes my parents and I had were lovely.

Brilliant food and even better service!I ordered:Starters:🔹Lollypop chicken ~ the lollipop chicken was crispy, cooked well and was marinated in a sweet and sticky sauce. Truly delicious.🔹Achari lamb chops ~ these were soft, tender and juicy. Ngl, I was very impressed with how the lamb chops were packed with flavour and grilled to perfection.🔹 Corn on the cob ~ this was drizzled in a special sauce that definitely upped the corn on the cob game. It had a sweet aftertaste. This isn't currently on the menu, but will hopefully be on there soon iA!🔹Dynamite king prawns ~ the dynamite prawns were also nice. The prawns were garnished with onions, peppers and pomegranates which were a nice touch.Mains:🔹Railway Gosht ~ The gosht was a straight up 10/10 dish. If you go to this restaurant this curry is a must-have. Again, the lamb was cooked to perfection. It was soft and meltingly tender. The meat fell apart easily. Such an authentic dish.🔹Red Murgh curry ~ the chicken was cooked nicely and the curry had a good level of spice. The variety of ingredients were all freshly prepared.🔹Chicken Tarka ~ If you don't like spice then this is the curry for you. Although it isn't spicy, it is still full of flavour. The chicken is sweet and this went nicely with the pilau rice.🔹Masala fries, garlic naan & Pilau rice ~ the masala fries were saucy and fluffy. The garlic naan was also light, fluffy and tasty. The pilau rice went nicely paired with the chicken tarka or the railway gosht.

I found this restaurant on google when travelling for work. I booked a table using their online reservation system and was contacted within 5 minutes to confirm my booking. On arrival I was greeted by friendly attentive staff. This is a small restaurant so I would recommend booking to guarantee a table. I ordered the Railway Gosht and vegetable fried rice as a main meal. I was not disappointed. What a lovely meal. The lamb was tender and the curry sauce was thick and full of flavour. The rice was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.
