This used to be a fantastic cafe, but the last two times I have been it has been brought to its knees. It gets very busy as they offer afternoon tea alongside breakfast and lunches, with this I think they need to keep it separate. The most recent time I took my nan, the tables hadn't been cleaned and we had to go and ask if they could clean it down. When I ordered they said it would be a 40 minute wait for food but drinks would come out soon... We waited half n hour for the drinks yet people who were going up and ordering were getting theirs before us! A lot of the time the staff were joking behind the till, and didn't seem too bothered that complaints were coming in (we were not the only one waiting ages for drinks). The staff were not aware of the space around them, one dropped a full bottle of milk on the floor, left it whilst getting mop for it all to run out, block the entrance to the kitchen and be wasted.Don't think I'll be going back for food, really disappointed with it lately.

Very busy, as expected. Two of us for lunch & told 30 min wait on food. No problem. One meal came out after 15 mins & the other after 30, so we ate separately. Made no sense to us. My food was very good, my friends, not do much...

Poor customer service, slow, poor quality food and very overpriced (£7 for a basic sandwich). I feel so disappointed writing such a negative review but I am left with no choice after my experience today. Went to the cafe today and we ordered our food (two cheese and onion sandwiches and 2 children's hot dogs) - £32 with two coffees. We were told there would be a 20/30 minute wait. Fine. No issue with this. We then had to wait 45 minutes. We were not offered an apology for the lateness of our food. I checked my sandwich, and it had no red onion on. I brought this to their attention. They then took my sandwich to add the onion. This took 10 minutes. In total, I was waiting for 55 minutes before I actually got to eat my sandwich which is ridiculous with two toddlers in tow who were very bored by this point. No apology was offered by one single member of staff. Such a shame as this is a local cafe for us and I wanted to enjoy it but quite frankly, I didn't and we wasted our money.

Went to garden centre to do the gnome/fairy trail with fiancé's granddaughter. Good array of plants.Food in restaurant was really good. Probably best one I've been to at a garden centre. Not your normal type of menu you'd find at this sort of establishment.

A wonderful little tea and coffee shop with lovely views looking over the little lake, to have breakfast, afternoon tea. Awesome cakes. Loved my birthday brunch there. Fabulous. Thank you also for fantastic service.

Absolutely superb service at the Waterside Cafe , we have been for Afternoon Tea to celebrate an 80th birthday and nothing was too much trouble, the staff are so attentive & so welcoming. The afternoon tea was gorgeous, a lovely selection of sandwiches and savouries which were all lovely and fresh and a really good selection of cakes and absolutely gorgeous scones accompanied by a glass of non alcoholic fizz because they are not licensed and as much Tea & coffee that you can drink all served in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake. Highly recommended a visit here service is 1st Class "Thank you" all the staff for making it such a special afternoon.

Have popped by a few times now. Plenty of parking and when it gets busy, there is an over flow car park too.Toilets are available if needed. The garden centre is large and has a lot to offer. Even has a lovely walk around the back. Or you can just sit by the lake and enjoy a cup of tea and maybe a meal. The cafe is a lovely place. Ladies are always helpful and polite. Food is nice enough and not over priced.Yet if your a vegetarian, you'll have very limited choices. But a nice slice of cake usually helps me through such limitations. There is something for everyone though. If your in the area, pop by and enjoy.

The courgette and avocado cake was delicious!!! The cafe was clean, friendly staff, a good menu with lots of cakes and food. Good quality food and value for money. You can also buy £10 gift vouchers for the cafe, these can be used to buy any food or drink item.

Friendly and helpful staff look after you well at this wonderful garden centre cafe, whether you sit outside by the lake with the ducks or inside in the comfy booths. Cakes are great and the coffee and tea give you a lot of choice. Fairly standard lunch menu is a good quality and all at a fair price. Wonderful place to take an older parent or a young child. Why not walk round the lake and meet the fairies before feeding the ducks.
