"The Montgomery of Alamein is a family friendly pub, in the heart of Hampton Magna. We do live music once or twice per month and we have a quiz night every Thursday, starting at 8.30pm We have a pool table and a dart board and we love to see new faces and of course our regular custom. We have homemade hearty food served Wednesdays to Sundays. Why not pop in and see what we are all about, we can't wait to see you! 😊"

Visited on a Wednesday evening, the staff were friendly and welcoming but the restaurant was very quiet. I ordered the curry with scotch bonnet chillies; the sauce was nice but even through that the chicken tasted precooked without the advertised tikka coating. There was nothing wrong with this but it didn't like it and won't be back.

Friendly staff, okay food.I've visited twice now, and twice been disappointed with what I ordered. To be fair, I was warned by the waiter the first time that I was ordering a mild dish, but I'm about the flavour rather than the heat. That dish was indeed mild, in that it had very little flavour either. This time I was warned that I was ordering a very spicy dish. I hoped so, as it had the name of my favourite scotch bonnet chillies in the name. Alas, when it arrived, there was no fruity scotch bonnet flavour and only the hot & sour Birdseye variety in plentiful supply. In fact, a friend tried mine and said it tasted exactly like his, only hotter.

Early dinner, lovely food, found the curries a little too similar in taste. But high quality and more authentic than usual.

Really, really good food. We were recommended by my partners brother who's opinion I trust. Food wasn't over oiled and arrived quickly. The only thing I comment I really have is that it is far to hit on the ground floor. We asked for the heater above the door and the radiator to be turned off which the staff were more than happy to do for us, but it was still far too hot. I'd have liked to have been seated upstairs as it is far cooler. Never the less 10/10 will visit again.

Ordered a takeaway based on the reviews and was so disappointed. The portion sizes were good as we always have too many leftovers when ordering a takeaway (aka on the smaller size) but the positives stop there unfortunately. All of the food was swimming in oil and lacked flavour. We are on holiday in the area and so I researched restaurants before coming and had this starred as a place to go to or get a take away from but I wish we had just chosen a generic place close to where we are staying instead. The story of the restaurant on the site is lovely and the menu choices seemed great as a vegetarian but the 3 veggie dishes I got all tasted the same.

Really top notch food. The decor is good , the tables are properly clean and not all sticky (big plus for me, and many others like me- other restaurants take note!!!). Service is good , patient and attentive staff. Definitely recommend.

Happened across this place by accident. What a find! The food is amazing! I've been trying to think of the last time I had anything as good and I can't. Very good service, and well presented staff. An absolute gem of a restaurant.

Came here on a whim. Bit hard to find as down a narrow alley and parking down the road. Waited nearly an hour for a starter which is why I docked a star. People placing takeaway orders seemed to be seen before us but was worth the wait when food finaly arrived. Flavourful and fresh. Lovely staff. Slightly expensive.
