Stayed here for a night to break up an otherwise 9hr drive home. Hotel had a nice presentation downstairs, and the room was okay, but the carpets needs some major TLC (totally threadbare on the edges) and everything felt 80's, beyond the big TV on the wall. Bed was a nice size, but just 2 singles pushed together so we fell down the middle alot. Food was exceptionally good, the starter and main living up to the price, but the deserts let it down, unfortunately obviously frozen and not as described on the menu (the cherry cheesecake didn't come with the orange cream for example). The waitress who served our drinks and took our order was very pleasant, but the waitress who served our food failed to advise my partner that the plate was exceptionally hot, resulting in a blister on her finger even after holding it against a jar of iced water. The management helped, albeit dramatically, by providing a burn pad, and clearly feeding our complaint back to the waitress who was heard advising other patrons that the plates were hot.My partner enjoyed the spa and had a pleasant massage. We both spent an hour or so in the pool and steam room. The pool is very family orientated and therefore small and shallow (1.6m), but it's possible to get some lengths in when it's quieter. The steam room was clean and pleasant.Overall, the whole place felt a bit stuck in the past, but the food was good if you avoid the desert. I'm not sure I'd rush back, but we aren't often in that area.

Thank you for yet another fantastic stay. Lovely room, and Pauline swapped my room so we could have access to the wonderful gardens with my dogs. Jo is exceptional as a bar manager and his lovely staff, sorry did not get all your names. And thank you to Manager Lucus for a lovely warm welcome and having the time to chat with us and fuss the dogs. We are very relaxed and we will see see you all again in October. Staff 5 stars, room 5 stars, hotel 5 stars.

A beautiful place for an overnight stay. Very comfy room and excellent facilities. The River Restaurant was delightful - both for an evening meal (really appreciated them being flexible with our booking due to one of our party unfortunately arriving late) and breakfast the following morning. Access to the hotel pool was a real bonus.

Hotel is in a lovely place. Breakfast was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room could do with an upgrade. There was very poor drawer space and no accessible sockets near the bed.

Stayed here for 3 months with a colleague due to a work project. The facilities available at the hotel are outstanding. Restaurant always clean with lots of choice. Especially for breakfast. And the food is also brilliant in quality and taste. The staff all around the hotel are lovely and welcoming and know a lot about customer service. The rooms are for the best part cleaned almost every day and are clean and comfortable. The gym facility is great and the staff there really make it a pleasurable experience. Swimming pool is usually overwhelmed by children due to swimming classes most evenings so if you are planning to use the swimming pool i would suggest going early morning. However the steam room is usually available. The only downside is that there is no sauna facility. Car parking is never an issue as there is a massive overflow carpark available. All in all a lovely stay and i hope to see the team and the hotel again in the future. It will be missed.

Mould in the bathroom, dust in the rooms. Heating in the room not working, luckily warm outside. Dated furniture, but comfy beds. Great breakfast.Restaurant tends to be expensive, as portions quite small. However, food tasty and good service.Indoor swimming pool small and it gets crowded. One rule they have there I find offensive as a mother: adults can swim any time they want, but children are restricted to certain hours of the day. As the pool is on the small side, imagine 10 kids trying to swim, splash and have fun during allocated time, but 6 adults doing lanes and swimming forcefully in the pool. It is also a safety issue.Steam room used by people without a towel, no rules in place. One shower outside the steam room, but no peg around to hang a towel or put your stuff on.It is meant to be a 4 star hotel, but it is barely close to a 3 star.Plenty of choices in the area, so spend your money wisely.

Nice hotel, house keeping was off, no towels in the room when we arrived no shampoo or shower gel. Nice restaurant, good crossiant at breakfast. Bar pleasant apart from the little insects flying around. Had twin room but beds touching and headboards meant you couldn't move them apart. Lovely location.

I stay at the Chesford Grange for a corporate event. Staff were welcoming and service was great. Room was spotless. I manage to get up and use the gym the next morning it was clean tide and they had a nice setup there. The buffet breakfast was pretty standard but nice and the grounds have a nice walk around them.

My partner booked us a few days away and it was a lovely experience. The food was wonderful and very enjoyable. All the staff were very pleasant, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I treated myself to a couple of treatments in the spa and again the staff were amazing and helpful.... the treatments were just what I needed and they were tailored to just how I wanted them. Amazing few days away with amazing food, treatments and of course company.

Lovely hotel and very comfortable bed. Good selection of choices for breakfast, ranging from full English to continental. Hotel is in good location with plenty of parking space available. Went there for 2 night stay to attend a special event which included dinner. Unfortunately food wasn't that nice and just warm, however service was very quick. Would go there again and hopefully the restaurant food is better.
