Finally found a malayalee restaurant in UK . The experience of having appam and stew after a long time brought back memories. During my visit I have ordered appam, kallu appam, chicken stew and Thalassery dum biriyani. The appam and chicken stew combo was too good . But the biriyani was average being a person who has spent his life in malabar region of Kerala the dish name was misleading. Wasn't able to replicate the authentic taste of malabar biriyani. Even though the experience was good. Will definitely be visiting again to try more dishes.Enjoy eating 😁

Food was beautifully presented and tasted just as amazing as it looks. Dishes like ammachi pidiyum kozhiyum were unique and not commonly found in other Indian restaurants - definitely would come back for more of it! Services were great and staff were friendly as well.

Very very bad taste. I had come earlier here before few months and taste was really good, which made me come back here. But I am deeply disappointed with the taste. We had Masala Dosa, Vada, Chilly Fish, Papadam, & Cocktails. Everything was on the worst side of the taste.I wish I didn't need to put this review, but I have to be true for what I experienced. To specifically mention, Vada is my favourite dish, watch the photos, we (3) couldn't even finish 1 Vada together. It wasn't even cooked properly from inside. Same was with potato masala inside the Dosa.Seems like chef has changed and it has turned the taste upside down!BTW, ambiance still remains very good, staff are still excellent and I wish whatever was the problem, that gets resolved and we love and change the review next time.

Super meal, great staff and beautiful restaurant. My crab was amazing (if not difficult because I had to break all the claws myself!)

Very quiet when I visited so food was fairly quick. As good as I remembered for visiting Leicester one. Very tasty. Only criticism felt it was on the expensive side. Maybe that's a sign of the times. Well decorated but they need some WD-40 on the squeaky door. Staff wore masks. Pancake bread soft and fluffy.

Very aesthetically pleasing restaurant with outstanding interior designing resembling the traditional ambiance of Kerala. All the dishes were up to the standard and absolutely delicious especially the beef ulathiyath and the nadan chicken curry. The biryani was nice but it wasn't Thalasseri Chicken biryani as described in the menu. The customer service was exceptional. Overall, enjoyed our time fully and it was really worth the time, which drove us to the beautiful memories of Kerala, the state of India.

Kayal was such a pleasant place to eat out. Came here due to their vast vegan options. I booked a table for 8pm, and it was very busy when I arrived so it took a while to be seated. But the staff were so lovely and positive. I ordered the gin cocktail to start, their drinks are quite pricey and the cocktail was lackluster. But the food was great, had the lentil doughnuts to start which tasted amazing, had a great dipping selection. Then had the aubergine curry which was even better as it had great spices, definitely recommend it. Paired with the coconut rice, which didn't have much flavour compared to plain rice. When the food came out I was slightly unsure if the portion size was big enough, but by the end I did feel quite full so it was just right. And the price wasn't bad at the end.

Kayal !!! One of the best South Indian restaurants in UK.I personally give a ‘WOW’ for the amazing interior design of this restaurant . The starters were super tasty and well presented. The food was spicy which I love , but if you doesn’t like spicy food, it’s better to tell them before you make the order. We tried chicken and fish biriyani , both of them were good .Lastly, I tried kuttanadan duck roast and the dish is very expensive. However , I felt it’s not worth for that money . The customer service was excellent. Overall , it was a good experience!!!
