A lovely roast dinner for father's day. I had the chicken with pesto crumb. The potatoes were crispy with plenty of veg and the gravy was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and laughed along with us. There was a little bit of a wait for our food but we didn't mind as we had plenty to catch up on! I will definitely return as there were a few things on the menu I'd like to try - the chip shop board being one of them!

We went there last night, and understand it was busy, however the menu offered was not what is online. Service was very slow, and the food quality not worth the amount paid. 1 of our meals was not cooked fully, and another was an inedible piece of steak.We were given 2 free puddings to make up for the bad food. Waitresses were really nice.

We had a birthday meal for 5 of us and all had a thoroughly nice evening. The food was superb, nice wine, great staff, and a very friendly little dog and parrot!! Happy to recommend it and we will definitely be back.

Lovely looking pub and the menu sounded fab. This is a very mixed review! The food was normal pub standard food, pleasant enough but nothing special so felt this was over priced for what it was. The waitress was pleasant. My order was slightly wrong (I asked for chips and salad with my meal, but got chips and ciabatta), but I still ate it and made no complaints about this. There was a large bone in the duck wrap which put my child off their food as they had bitten into it so didn’t eat the meal. I didn’t appreciate them trying to explain to my child ’it was probably just gristle’ when it was quite a large sharp piece of bone. We had no apologies and no attempt to correct this. They also put someone else’s drinks onto our bill, but we got that refunded. Unfortunately not a great experience for our first time there, hopefully this is an unfortunate one off as I think there is lots of potential there and it really is a lovely looking pub.

Sunday lunch- a new find!Pub had a great buzz, even for early-ish arrivals.Very efficient, very friendly staffShort but good and well written kids menu.(!)Bar was operated very very efficiently too. And we watched whilst every glass was polished to perfection!Super tasty, freshly carved roast lamb and roast sirloin of beef with properly crispy roast potatoes, honeyed carrots and parsnips, home made yorkshires. Perhaps more variety in the green vegetable would have been the only improvement I'd suggest.Very generous portions of dessert too!

Great welcoming place. It might be a village pub, but it certainly doesn't have the "for locals only" atmosphere it's always a pleasure to walk in, there are no "stares".Food is fantastic: high end restaurant quality but without the price tag to match.The menu isn't massive, but that feels a good thing as the more than adequate selection is perfected it feelsIf you are a mushroom lover then the wild mushroom on toast is a must! Loaded with mushrooms in the best sauce i've had, but not tonnes of bread to overload you, which is ideal.Really wouldn't want it any other way!

Absolutely amazing the food was top notch fresh and reasonably priced, staff very friendly and welcoming, Guinness was brilliant very warm and welcoming pub over all a brilliant experience would definitely visit again superb.

Just had a lovely roast dinner with my boyfriend and his daughter after leaving the retro truck show at the motor museum. The pub is beautiful, retro touches like the bicycle planter and great outdoor space with random chairs and tables under a gazebo. Inside has the wow factor with a lovely old bar and little snug areas including the one at the top past the bar in the big leaded window with the bird for company! We had 2 roast dinners (gluten free) which were wonderful. My boyfriend raved about the flavour of the carrots! I had the meat trio which was beef, pork and honey roast gammon. Little 'un had Cajun chicken burger which she loved and then topped off with a chocolate brownie and gluten free New York cheese cake, served with cute little shovel spoons! Outside there's a ittle allocated smoking area with a bench and features to finish. The 2 lads working (both tall and well used to ducking everywhere under the beams) were ultra polite and hardworking, covering the bar area, outside and waiting on. Service with a smile the whole time. Shame we live 2 hours away or would be regulars! Can definitely recommend. A* 5* gold*
