We went here today , arrived around 1:30 pm and was told there were no tables available inside however I could see there were clearly empty tables. I asked the waitress if she could check again and was then told we were in luck as there had been a “no show”We were seated quickly and our drinks order taken and another lady came and took our food order , I ordered prawn starter and beef roast , my partner mushrooms and fish and chips .Starters came promptly , however no drinks had come ? I asked the lad who bought our starter to chase our drinks , my tea arrived , but I had to call him back for milk , and then for a spoon and sugar , he told me they were under new management ( not quite sure the relevance of this ?? ) and things were a bit upside down .My biggest gripe was the fact the door was constantly opening and closing to the garden , the room was cold , and the draught was constantly blowing through , the four surrounding tables were all eating in coats , with one ladies husband fetching a blanket to put over her legs x As a consequence the food although coming out hot became cold pretty quickly .My starter was tasty although very small , 5 small prawns for £8 . The mushrooms were extremely tasty and came with sour dough bread.Beef was excellent and the roast was piping hot but as I say was cold within minutes due to the door, the fish was meaty and tasty but the batter was very very hard . Side of cauliflower cheese at £5 a complete waste of money as it was burnt .We waited to be checked on but we weren’t , so we couldn’t order another drink or a dessert . After 10/15 mins of finishing we made our way to the till to pay . This was our first visit and wouldn’t necessarily be our last but service needs tweaking and maybe only a place to visit when warmAnd sunny so the chill factor wouldn’t be an issue .

Came here for a last minute Sunday dinner - sat outside and garden was great for the children to run around in. Waitress was lovely, prompt and friendly. Sunday lunch was a good size and delicious. Pudding was decent too.

Stopped for lunch when passing through - no reservation and not familiar with the area. What a lovely discovery. Delicious food, made to feel very welcome; service was excellent. Recommended.

Great service, staff very accommodating.. Had the 3 roast meats Sunday lunch.. Lamb and pork belly was spot on, shame the beef was over cooked !Cheesecake was to die for 😁Wines a tad expensive...Overall a nice afternoon...

Excellent house burger. We sat inside, which was a bit dark. But come the warmer days there is lots of outside and garden seating, with views across open countryside.

We had a pleasant Sunday lunch here but feel it could easily have been better. The roast beef was a little "strange", two thin slices but almost steak like. Also a bit more carrot and a parsnip bigger than 2cm would have been appreciated. All was well cooked and the service was very prompt and attentive by the friendly waitresses.I thought £17 per head was expensive for what we had but that's true for most pubs in the area.Unfortunately there was nothing on the dessert menu that tempted us.

Four of us went their on Friday lunchtime. The food was absolutely fabulous. The fillet steak special was huge and so tender, with a beautiful mushroom sauce. I had the stuffed belly pork with a wonderful rich sauce. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. If you haven't tried it yet, you really must.

Limited menu and pie was off on the day we visited so even more limited, hubby had fish and chips which he enjoyed and I went for the veggie curry with coconut rice which is unusual for me and liked the sound of another veggie dish too. Without the pie left with fish or pork belly which wasn't great but have to say the curry was lovely and would order again

My friend and I came here a few days ago while we were staying in Warwickshire and the food was delicious! We shared a melted Camenbert with garlic and toasted focaccia and red onion chutney and then I had the Pork belly with stuffing inside for my main, while my friend had the Chicken in a creamy sauce and we both loved our food ❤Some of the tastiest food I've ever had!Lovely decor and friendly staff too.
