Hi all viewers. I did visit this place Saturday. Tables were dirty, staff was short. I really don't recommend this place at all. This happens when main manager is unorganize n rude with his staff. I guess manager of this pub has low standard. I did try to tell manager about the issue. But he walked out. John the manager is really rude. No mannered at all.

Highly recommended for Family a meal! Lovely pub theStaff are friendly & welcoming & there’s such a choice on the menu it was hard for us to decide what to have! The fish was freshly cooked and it was the best fish I’ve ever had! Will be returning & thank you for a lovely meal

Starter +main+dessert, all good, altho the inmade nacho chips were not nice, dorito chips preferred, treacle pudding +ice cream dessert was good, hence empty plate, would go again not to busy

I've come away feeling utterly shocked and disappointed. Was fairly quiet when we went in. Waited quite a while for our meal to come out and when it did was rather "well" cooked yet still edible. 1 sausage for a child was a very small portion. As many chips on the adult meal as a child's. We finished our main & staff walked past many times. 15 mins after finishing mains plates were still on table and no sign of pudding (kids were getting restless by now)..... finally plates cleared & no sign of desert 10 mins later still no dessert. Asked a member of staff - oh that's the kitchen staff area- so no sorry I'll check on that for you, a moment later "now I can be bothered"l'll l check in the kitchen.walked past with no answer in the end we got fed up of waiting and left without the desert we paid for! Absolutely terrible.

Visited yesterday for a catch up with friends.Staff welcoming and friendly.Homemade soup was lovely. We ordered a chicken dish when it came was well presented. The chicken I found tough and extremely chewy. Pudding was apple crumble, it was nice. But to be honest was more of an apple pie. Coffee machine was in repair so unless you like black coffee or tea was the option with cold beverages. The pub is nicely decorated and spacious. I will return if only to try a few other meals. .

I have been here many times but mainly for drinks, especially the ale. Like most places the atmosphere varies enormously depending on when you visit, I tend to avoid Saturdays. The regular entertainment is quite popular and worth checking out.

Had a catch up at The Dog and Gun with family, this is a nice place to meet and eat. All our 4 meals were well presented and we all enjoyed them. Now had 5 meals here over 2 years as it’s very convenient as we do not live in the area and find it brilliant to meet family here and as we say good food and nice surroundings 👍 Thanks Team Dog and Gun.

When entering the Dog and Gun you could see that it was a fairly quiet local pub with few customers in. The Pub overall had a nice atmosphere and a very cosy vibe. It had a lovely country feel to it with an open fireplace. We had to order ourselves at the bar and put the cutlery out which was disappointing given that we would have expected table service in similar venues of the same chain. The lighting was also good inside. There was a little bit of a draft coming in from the entrance due to the proximity of the table near it but it was relatively comfortable.Food and drinks were delivered quickly after we ordered. The mains we ordered were lackluster in terms of our expectations. The Classic Chicken Burger topped with BBQ pulled pork came out cold. After raising this with a member of staff she said she would 'check this for me' as though I was lying about the temperature of my meal. After disappearing into the kitchen for 5 minutes she then reappeared to agree that the dinner was in fact cold. She then proceeded to ask if I would like the meal reheated or a fresh one cooked! I believe that no restaurant should EVER ask if you would like something reheated and should always be cooked fresh. The Belgian Chocolate Brownie Dessert left a lot to be desired as it was too thick and didn't actually taste all that chocolatey. It was also quite rich and very gooey. The Caramel Apple Crumble Pie was satisfactory. The custard had some congealed skin on the surface which left a inconsistency with the overall dish. The filling and the pastry itself was tasteful and filling.Using the facilities we did notice that there was a door in the women's toilet held open by beer mats which was inventive as it was situated close to the driers. The service in the pub was friendly but had started to get slower towards the end of the night which given the level of trade in the pub was not a good sign. One of the cubicles did not lock and the other had danger tape on it.Overall, we would be hesitant to return as we found it to be average overall. A 5/10.
