Shocking behaviour from 2 horrible bar tender bullies who enjoyed pulling rank so much it was really disgusting. They refused to serve a friend who they said was too drunk (utter rubbish). I then asked if I could order two pints and we'd drink them out the back. The bar tender agreed, only to send a fella out to swipe the pints off the table as we were sat down. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Clowns.Wednesday 27th April at around 11.30pm. Perhaps consider hiring better staff than were on. They'll lose you business if they behave like that. Won't be going back.(In response to your claim, we did not threaten anyone. No idea where that has come from? I drank both pints and we left very disappointed. Please don't claim otherwise)

Always a lovely, comfortable atmosphere when I come to this pub. It’s usually around lunchtime if I’m there and it’s always clean, has a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are lovely, polite and friendly. Perfect meeting place for a drink, food or a chat. Cocktails are delicious and buy one get one free. Lots of choice for food too including hand made pizzas and food for vegetarians and vegans if that suits you. A great place to go for lunch and you always feel welcome.

Excellent choice of well kept real ales & good food.Mediocre score reflects the volume of noise. I walked around the whole pub to find the quietest spot. (Still not quiet)It needs to decide whether it's a music venue or sports bar at any one time. Heavy rock & football on the numerous TVs playing at the same time at such a loud volume it was just a cacophony. Customers shouldn't need to ask to turn the volume down.

Lovely pub, good drinks and nice atmosphere. However didn't appreciate being unceremoniously booted off a table with no resevered signs, which had been picked for that reason. The member of staff who told, not asked, us to move did so with a total lack of apologies or manners.

The Hogshead was the perfect setting for our NCTJ end of year social. Us trainee journalists had a whale of a time tasting the different beers on offer and sampling the Christmas fayre

Great place to go on match day. The place opens early. Really good atmosphere and good selection of beers. The food was only okay, but honestly not why you should be going here anyway. It gets a little packed closer to kick off.

Comfortable, friendly place, as a solo female sometimes having a meal or pint alone can be daunting but never at hogs. Ace pizza and great guest beers and ciders. Lovely staff.

Cosy, elegant, good music, terrific customer service and quality. A huge world beer menu, many different options, for all tastes. Definitely recommend!
