Lovely little pub in a great location always great food here really tasty fish and perfect chunky chips. The owners are very welcoming and friendly staff all round. One of the best pubs in the UK IMO. Careful at night time if you drink a lot you may end up in the water XD

Pleasant enough staff and a welcoming pub but the restaurant hem you in like sardines. I asked for a steak well done to be presented with a rare blood soaked steak, my partners ceasar said was on the other hand pretty good. Upon removing our plates the staff member asked if all was ok to be told “not really” at which she scoffed then realised I was serious. Asked for the bill and taxi, the bill arrived promptly, no taxi was called for. Won’t return. Seems to be a victim of its own success and punching well above its weight. Good pub, poor restaurant, stick to selling pints to the summer crowd.

Staff extremely friendly to dogs and human. Another diner very rude about our dog who was well behaved and quiet throughout meal. The staff took the time to apologise even though not their fault and said undeserved and not warranted. The food was excellent and apart from the other diner was welcoming and a great venue just a grouchy person which had nothing to do with our enjoyable evening and we do not hold the pub or staff to blame. 5 stars for venue, staff and food.

Good food .We weren't told our table was outside , luckily not too cold.Service a little slow but they were busy. The small extras we asked for were no problem . I had a Sunday roast pork which was good , the beef was rather ' chewy.Veg selection was very good . Drinks are a little expensive .

Another great visit to this pub...good food and great beer and drinks. Hopefully be back again at some point in the future or when chugging through on the river Severn or canal. Cheers to all the friendly staff and their cheerful service..

Took my parents here after they came down to visit, ordered salmon salad and the first one I was brought was raw, you could see before cutting into it.They then replaced it (in photo) and the second was still raw in the center. How is this possible? They apologised, but really for £14 (overpriced) you would expect a refund.Very disappointed.

We waited 10-15 minutes just to be seated. On the way to the table we were asked if we wanted food, we were given menus and ordered our drinks, the drinks came in good time but we had to wait a further 20-30 minutes until we could get someone to take our order and by that time we were told the kitchen was closed! We arrived at the pub at 8pm and the kitchen apparently closes at 8.30pm. If you want good service I recommend you avoid this pub!

This is a pub well worth A visit. The food menu is thorough with special deals during the week. The beer, wine, cider, lager and spirit's on offer provide a wide choice. There is an extensive seating ares outside too.The toilets are well maintained and kept clean.Customer service is first rate. The bar and restaurant is clean however it could do with re-painting.

Absolutely first class meal today! The attention to detail and communication before our visit was fantastic, with a bespoke meal being made for one of our party who is a vegetarian. We eat out on Christmas Day a lot, and weren't sure what to expect, as we'd never been to The Anchor before. We needn't have worried - we had the warmest of welcomes, the atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed, the service was second to none and the food was possibly the best we've ever experienced on Christmas Day. Great family run pub with superb food - we'll definitely be back.
