Where is The Balcony Cafe?

🏠 Foregate St, Worcester WR1 1DT

"The Balcony Cafe is located alongside the cities museum and art gallery in the Victoria institute, or as most people know it, ‘the old library’. Its just past the railway station as you walk away from the city center. The perfect place for a quick tea and cake if your train has been delayed. It’s a beautiful, elegant building from the outside and even more spectacular from the inside. The cafe is upstairs set around the balcony looking down on to the entrance and gift shop below. We serve light lunches, teas locally roasted coffee and a great choice of cake, including vegan and gluten free options 10.30-4.15 Monday to Saturday. We look forward to seeing you soon."

The cafe is closed for the foreseeable future however the museum is great and very interesting. Helpful and polite staff

This lovely, tranquil cafe has never disappointed. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and although the proprietor is only now approaching completion of his first year at the Balcony Café, he deserves much credit for the innovative menu, made from fresh ingredients, in great combinations. Balcony Café has a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee freshly made, and really good meals and sandwiches (also freshly made to order ). A must for refreshments when you're at the Museum, or just visiting Worcester, and very deserving of local support.

Quite simply, I ordered a halloumi wrap, and it tasted ABSOLUTELY STELLAR. How can a halloumi wrap look and taste this good?! There's an artist at work in the kitchen here. Charles and I agreed that here was one of the most delicious (without exaggeration) freshly made lunches we've individually come across.

Pete has just taken it over - and what a positive & excellent change he has made. Demi has provided a wealth of experience & knowledge so the two of them are "growing it" into a 'must-visit café......and there's art as well!!!!!!

Straightforward wee cafe in upstairs of delightful museum. Lovely home cooked food eg quiches and cakes, v friendly family run cafe - perfect for a rest stop when visiting - much more interesting than many of the chain places in town. Great for mums with little ones - a must try place of you haven’t been!

Fresh food, reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere and very friendly family focused staff. A lovely place to stop and enjoy a lovely homemade cake with probably the nicest coffee in worcester.

Had the home made soggy bottom and inedible pastry. No cream tea available by 2:30 pm. Useless really.

·

Fab cafe inside Worcester museum & gallery. Freshly prepared meals & snacks, clever seasonal menu, incredibly tasty homemade cakes. And a cheerful team. Perfect.

An absolutely lovely friendly atmosphere with great staff always on hand to help out. The food was fresh as usual and you could taste the difference. Great to see through to the kitchen and see things being hand made brings back memories of my early years and Mum always making and baking the food which also adds to the ambiance with the home made baking odours wafting through every now and again.Well worth a visit on any outing to Worcester.

We used to go to this café on a regular basis however the last couple of visits have been very off putting. Lunch has taken 45 mins to get to the table and the food is not of the same standard. Please can you pull up your socks as this is a very convenient venue for us.
