A decent pub experience - we had the fish n chips and the vegan curry. The fish was made nicely but the curry barely had flavor and also was atomic spicy. We only had one spoonful and could not eat the rest. Otherwise I’m sure the rest of the food here is decent!

Called in for lunch after an unsuccessful visit to another well known establishment nearby. That was a lovely building but they didn't have draft ales and the food was limited, expensive and poncy. The welcome at the Crown and Trumpet couldn't have been better. Lovely friendly staff, great range of real ales and ciders, great choice of food at sensible prices, dog friendly and all in a cosy interesting environment. Couldn't fault a thing, will be returning whenever we're passing that way again.

One of the best pubs I've visited. Staff made us feel very welcome and were helpful throughout our stay, Andrew offered us advice on the best things to see and do in the area and clearly takes real pride in offering top service. Great traditional food, well priced too, and a superb selection of local ales, cider and perry at the bar. Cooked breakfast was also excellent. Inviting room with lots of character and nicely presented. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room but no UHT milk here - just ask and you get a jug of fresh milk from the kitchen! Great location just down the road from the church and a couple of minutes walk to the high street. No parking on site but the long stay parking on Church Street was free overnight and only charged from 08:00 so put a couple of hours in the night before to run until 10:00 and give time for breakfast.

We went to this pub for an evening meal. The staff were friendly and chatty. I had a fish pie and my wife had a steak and kidney pie. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. It should have been a warning sign. The fish pie was dry however the steak and kidney was very nice. We had a sweet each, I had chocolate sponge and ice cream my wife had a jam roly poly. Mine was fine while the roly poly had no jam in, had been badly microwaved and was dry and hard. 2 1/2 pints, 2 main meals and 2 sweets cost £56. An overpriced meal that was essentially a microwave meal.

Me and the wife have been coming into the Crown and Trumpet for around 18 years now but last night ( Saturday 2nd April ) was the first time we have stayed , we had room number 2 which had two singles in it , the room was clean and warm with comfy beds , the floors do slope as it’s a very old building.Breakfast was also very nice , some reviews have mentioned the cost of the room’s seeing as breakfast is extra , unfortunately the Cotswolds is expensive and the cost’s compare very well with other hotels and b&b’s in the village. Some reviews have mentioned the food not being up to standard , I have always found the food to be good but if you find that your meal is not what you expected then mention it to the staff who will be happy to assist you with your issue ,Steve & Donna ( Coventry ).

Went in for lunch after a muddy walk - very friendly and helpful staff, and a great selection of beers, with a barman happy to answer questions.Food is basic, certainly not haute cuisine, but came quickly and did a job.V. Dog friendly and popular so if dogs aren’t your thing I’d avoid, but it was perfect for us and our two tired dogs.

This is a proper pub. Proper beer. Proper home-made pub grub, warm welcome, unpretentious interior. We have been 2 nights in a row and are booked for dinner tomorrow night. I only wish we had a proper pub like this near where we live.

Had a great Sunday lunch at the Crown and Trumpet. Table was easy to book over the phone and the staff were really friendly. Dog friendly so we could bring our puppy!

We had lunch at the Crown and Trumpet last week - and will definitely be back even though we live some thirty miles away. This pub is seriously well run and it shows in the quality of the food, the beer and the service from every one of the staff. I find it impossible to reconcile what we experienced with the odd negative review on here - but very easy to agree with the positive ones. If only all pubs were this good!

Called by for a lunchtime sandwich. Will book next time as they were busy but we got a nice seat in the bar by the fire. Beer on top form and the omelet was very good.
