I have visited several times in many recent months with my husband and my mother and are usually served by Shelly who is so pleasant and efficient. She always remembers what we normally order and there is no waiting for food and drinks to be served and Shelly has a great level of conversation, she’s a credit to the establishment

Round table suited our group. Service was timely, pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed our meal. If I was to criticise I would have liked more salad or vegetables with hunters chicken not just green leaves, perhaps tomato. Also no decaf coffee, which is unusual.Love mini pudding with a drink.

We popped in for Sunday lunch and were really happy we did. Service was good and the food was excellent. Beer and wine choice was good too. Definitely recommended for a traditional filling English meal.

We ordered food at 7:30 pm, had two courses and two rounds of drinks, desserts were cleared at 9:10 pm, the bill was presented at 9:11 pm without us asking for it and the card machine was then presented to us at 9:12 pm. When we explained we hadn’t yet looked at the bill and could the Barman please come back later we were met with an eye roll and sigh from him. He then returned at 9:25 pm to ask if we wanted anything else to which we said no. He came back at 9:40 pm to inform as it was last orders and then sent the waitress over at 9:50 pm to explain they were closing at 10 pm because there were not enough customers for it to be financially viable for them to remain open. We use this fairly regularly as a central meeting place to catch up. Safe to say we won’t be returning! If you’re going there just to eat and not for the social element of eating out – which if I’m honest the food isn’t worth just that – then you can eat and be out in an hour. If you’re looking for an enjoyable evening without being pressured to leave, then it’s probably worth looking elsewhere!

We went here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration lunch. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the food was very enjoyable. As a vegetarian, I was really pleased with my option for the roast - really tasty! I was a tad disappointed that the Yorkshire Pudding didn't come as standard with the veggie option, although, to be fair, this was to make it a vegan-friendly dish (which is fantastic to see). Still, I got my very own yorkshire for 50p extra; it wasn't exactly a hardship! We all very much enjoyed our meals here.Just one note of criticism: the disabled entrance could be a bit more welcoming, with perhaps a buzzer at the door so that we could ask someone to let us in.

Very good food. Packed out on a Thursday at 7pm. So a definite book before you go. I had the Sea Bass which was well worth the ÂŁ17 and the Eton Mess desert was incredibly light

Lovely food, staff were really friendly and didn't keep you waiting. Atmosphere is great and relaxed you never feel rushed. 10/10 would recommend

One of the best pub meals I have had in a very long time.Menu was so varied and I could have picked from a number of options.Millie our waitress was friendly and helpful. Both my wife and I had the pizza and it was one of the best I have ever had.Saying we are from Nottingham, I wish this was our local

Has the look and feel of an old pub. Primarily suited to the dinner as opposed to the casual drinker. There is a decent choice of Ales as well as beers ciders and gins etc.The tables are clean and chairs comfortable and steady. The food quality was excellent serving good portions of typical British pub food. Though the quality is well above standard. The triple cooked chips are divine. The table service from all the staff present was excellent and very friendly as well as welcoming.I will definitely be returning and which for someone like myself who is conscious of quality value and service is I feel a good recommendation.
