I think it is fair to say our wedding was a slightly mixed bag - but overall more positives than negatives. The day and night itself went very smoothly, in large part thanks to Katie and Abby's hard work and organisation - massive thanks to them. The waiters and bar staff were all friendly and helpful, and it was a fantastic wedding for everyone who attended. In terms of negatives, the Groom's party got ready in a hotel room that wasn't being used - but you would expect the room to be in a better state even if no guests were staying there. Lipstick on the wall, floor and even on the toilet paper. The toilet seat was completely broken which wasn't a pleasant surprise. For guests who stayed over on-site at the hotel, the experience did not live up to the price they paid. Several guests struggled with how cold the rooms were, even with the small radiators provided. The air con units were broken in the breakfast area meaning it was so cold you could see your breath in front of you - multiple radiators were brought through to help but that caused the lights to cut out so we ate breakfast in the dark! Ruby, the waitress at breakfast, tried her very best in challenging circumstances, going above and beyond to ensure the guests were comfortable. Khalid took some money off the bill but it wasn't the best note to end the wedding on.Overall we have a lot of fantastic memories to look back on so thanks to the team who did make it a great wedding. We just wish the rooms and breakfast had been a better experience.

The food was excellent, particularly the Seabass. Service was good. The room was quite cold. Lot of cigarette butts outside on the ground, not good!

Arrived yesterday for our Christmas lunch at 1.30pm.. Food was lovely! Cooked very well... I think the heating should be turned on in the toilets because it was a very cold day..Waitress was very rude when I asked her for some Tin foil so I could take a couple of slices of Turkey home for my lovely dog! I was told that I wasn’t allowed.. Obviously I was very annoyed after all I paid for it...I of course told her this, and she then told me to hurry up so she could take the plate.. So so rude! She clearly has no waitress skills, and certainly not customer friendly.. My friend complained to the manager, quite rightly so... Ā£95.00 per head is a lot of money to pay to be treated like that..Suggest the management train their staff to be POLITE and CUSTOMER friendly....

Christmas 2021. Six courses of superb food, portion sizes good, good value for money. Fabulous staff and service.

Stay away! FRAUD, DRUGS OFFERED TO GUESTS! We came here for a wedding. Firstly the bride got defrauded out of Ā£7000 as the hotels emails got hacked, they did not take any liability or offer sincere solution. We thought the nightmare would end there but it was just the beginning. Rooms were grotty, dirty and not worth the money we paid (Ā£95). Toilet roll holder falling off, grout in tiles mouldy, only had 3 fans for the whole palace so boiling in room! Bar staff were horrific, slow, rude, couldn’t even poor a pint!! Guests literally went behind the bar to pour pints and show THEIR staff how to do it!!! The wedding breakfast… it took an hour per course! The dessert was not what was arranged. The wedding planner was MIA when the speeches came to an end, leaving everyone awkward and confused. Moving back to the bar staff who offered the Brides brother DRUGS!!! With concerned guests met with attitude and rude remarks from the manager though his staff couldn’t poor drinks but obviously found it completely acceptable to offer people drugs. Avoid at all costs. Absolutely disgusting and trampy rooms and service.

Avoid this hotel!I attended a wedding here yesterday and I will start by saying that Katie, the wedding organiser, was absolutely fabulous. However, all of the other staff were rude, arrogant and inexperienced. The bar staff didn’t have a clue. I had to personally teach one barmaid how to pour a pint, she didn’t know what Bacardi was nor a shandy! This was no fault of her own, seeing as she was only 17 and is illegal for her to be serving on the bar!! She was completely out of her depth being alone on a bar with a wedding party queuing! All of the male bar and reception staff were ill mannered beyond belief. They served customers whilst either on the phone or with headphones in, greeted you at the bar with a ā€˜what?’ and just stood there chatting with each other when there was a huge queue of customers waiting. Drugs were also offered to guests at the bar by the staff. The three course meal took three hours to be bought out! Yes, three hours!! The dessert was also incorrect (profiteroles instead of chocolate brownies). The hotel rooms were filthy, in-equipped and dated. The sink was blocked in the reception toilet bathroom and they hadn’t been cleaned and restocked with toilet paper throughout the day.Do not book a wedding or a stay here!!!! If I could give minus stars I would!!

My daughter booked her wedding here as she wanted an all in package. Everything was going smoothly until the last month before the wedding day. The hotel contacted her asking for the balance to be paid as her account was £7000 short. My daughter explained that it was paid months ago into the account THEY emailed her. After a few hours they called to say the hotel email was hacked and my daughter and another brides details had been compromised. We put a claim in with the bank and told it would be sorted within 15 working days. This would take us a day after the wedding. We had a meeting with one of the owners to see what could be done. The hotel took NO responsibility and were told the balance needed paying within 7 days. They would not extend the payment even though they are the ones that got hacked. The family managed to pay the money for her so the wedding went ahead. On the day it got worse. The bar staff couldn't even pour a pint, in fact several guests ended going behind the bar to do it for them! The reception staff were rude to guests trying to book into the rooms and when they finally got in they were dirty and unclean, some had broken furnishings and one had a broken toilet flush button with tape over it. When mentioned to the one of the owners he got extremely rude and arrogant. He called one of the guests a lier and threatened to call the police. The three course meal took over 3 hours to serve. It took 40 MINUTES to serve the starters then 45 to serve the mains. Some guests had to leave before dessert as they had other commitments. When we asked why it was taking so long we got a sarcastic response off one of the staff. When the dessert a finally came it was the wrong one. Due to the time it took to actually get it we just accepted it. After the meal my son went to the bar to get a drink and one of the staff offered him drugs. When he said no they asked him not to tell the manager..... We did. Katie the wedding arranger did her best but the owner we dealt with was arrogant and delusional, definitely in the wrong profession. Weddings are hopefully a once in a lifetime occasion. Please do not trust this hotel with your special day.

Went to the Granary for a wedding and the organisation and staff were a shambles. They were rude to guests, the people working the bar were arrogant, still wearing earphones and seemingly made up the prices. Considering we're at the tail end of a pandemic, the rooms clearly hadn't seen a vacuum never mind a deep clean with some missing soap and toilet roll.Don't waste your money booking here.

Visited here for a wedding and must say what a lovely place. The food was fantastic and great staff. My only minor gripe was price of drinks but guess this is always the case with events and maybe I've lost touch with prices having not been out much during the past 18 months for obvious reasons! Overall a great place and would recommend either to go for a meal or to book for a special occasion.

Unfortunately I don’t have anything nice to say about this hotel. We arrived with another couple and told that our room was available to check into however someone else had been checked in to our friends’ room therefore another one had to be found. As we were heading to a wedding reception (at a different venue), our friends left their belongings in our room and later in the evening when they tried to contact the hotel to check that a room had been found, they got nothing but voicemail. When we arrived back at the hotel, someone was sat at reception. Screening calls? Avoiding calls? Who knows. Anyway, the room that they were originally supposed to check into was miraculously available - I’m curious as to why they were put into the same room and not another considering it had already been checked into by somebody else. We’d paid to stay in a Superior room. I’d hate to see what the Standard room looks like. I’m unsure as to what it is that defined the room as ā€˜Superior’. We stayed in room number 15 and upon entry to the room, it smelt damp and dirty. There were 4 spotlights in the bathroom. One of which worked fully, a second was dimly lit, a third flashed intermittently (when it wanted to) and the fourth just didn’t work at all. This made the bathroom extremely dark. The toilet seat was broken and coming loose and the plug in the bath was broken too. As I showered, I noticed that the water wasn’t draining and by the time I had finished my shower, the bath was half full with water. The cog on the bath that closed the plug twisted but the plug never budged and upon closer inspection the cog that should only twist left and right, also moved up and down in any direction you liked. Oh and to top it off, I’m the room, there was no remote for the TV.Then, breakfast. Ā£15 each they want for breakfast - appalling. We walked in without being greeted by anybody; nobody was on reception to tell us where to go. We walked into the restaurant that had free tables placed in an extremely dark area of the restaurant. The tables available weren’t made up with cutlery, cups, plates or anything and so we noticed a table in the very corner of the restaurant far away from any of the other tables that was made up for dinner from the previous evening (minus a set of cutlery). I asked two members of staff who were leaving the restaurant what the process was, they did not respond. Then I had another member of staff stare at me blankly when I asked if we could just sit at the table that looked like it was made up for dinner (at 9am). Nobody took our room numbers to confirm that we had paid for breakfast. The coffee was made up in coffee urns, there were no cups or milk; we had to seek someone out to ask for them (bearing in mind, the restaurant wasn’t big but staff were not at all present). The food was of poor quality. When we approached the hot food, the chef walked away, we didn’t know if we could serve ourselves or not. We did in the end. The scrambled egg looked inedible it was brown and sort of grey looking, we avoided that. The rest was barely edible and extremely lacking in variety considering the amount that we had paid.Upon returning home, I submitted my complaint to the email address listed on the website. I heard nothing back but then received an automated email two days later asking for feedback. I responded saying that I had already submitted feedback in the guise of a complaint to which somebody named Khalid replied saying that he would investigate. A week later, still nothing so I emailed again and had a response from Dr Salim saying that he would call me on the Wednesday evening. I asked him to give me a time to expect his call however I have heard nothing since. Needless to say, he never called. I have since contacted the hotel again asking for a resolution to my complaint and surprise surprise, I’ve heard nothing. They’ve been given ample opportunity to respond and they haven’t. Don’t stay here. Simple.
