So,5 of us went for an evening meal when we had finished being on the nearby drydock for a week. We booked a table and it was lovely with a reserved card all ready for us. We have varying menu tastes but all were met without any long waits. It was very satisfying and flavoursome. The Wye Valley brewery did us proud with the pints which made me happy as my Herefordshire home was so close. As kids we used to romp in the apples when cider was made there.Whats not to like? We will be going again soon.

Visited The Black Star last weekend for a few drinks.Great local pub, lovely staff.Loved having the wandering dogs and Steve the new dog walking around!Great priced drinks and the live music makes this a definite place to visit for a drink by the river.10/10 recommend.

WOW!!! Homemade Lasagne was delicious. Hubby had the ribs, he said they were very good! Good size portions and very cheap!! Lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place.

Wish this pub was down the road from me!Absolutely stunning food...partner said best mixed grill he has ever had. I had the chicken burger & was lovely. The kids meal was massive & prices were very good too. Staff were friendly & couldn't do enough for us. Steak came out slightly over done so another one was given free of charge!!! Cleaniness was also a⭐️, toilets spotless, smelled fresh & overall a good rounder.WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PUB FOR FOOD & DRINKS!!!

Lovely venue! The location is amazing, staff were very friendly, drinks reasonably priced and my partner and I stayed to watch a couple of bands. Also is dog friendly, so we were able to stay with the pup which is great for us, as it's sometimes difficult to find such places

Great live music night thanks to super singer strummer Chloe Mogg. Pitch and rhythm were spot on all night. Tune choices suited the Sunday sing song but I sense she's capable of more subtle songs too. Cheers!

looked nice pub for a sunday night pint, live band nice cobs seemed nice atmosphere....that was until resident dog appeared looking at you eating then coming up to you round the table. now I don't mind a dog infact we've had them he looked a nice dog and I no its a dog friendly pub great but not everyone wants to share there table with them....sorry not for me

I've just experienced the most amazing home made lasagne at this lovely little canal side pub. Just packed with flavour and presented with a fluffy jacket potato. Well recommended!!

We upgraded our steaks to “surf and turf” only to be served with pieces of battered scampi, that had been previously frozen. The pricing does not correlate with the quality of food, absolute pisstake! I would avoid this establishment like the plague, even giving it one star seems to be a stretch. The manager is the extremely rude and told us to be quiet when we have children with us, we could not enjoy the family meal. Absolutely disgusting and I will be reporting this place to the Pubs Code Adjudicator!

4th September 2021:What a fantastic pub restaurant just above the canal immediately after "Lower Mitton Bridge No.5" upon leaving Stourport on Severn basin onto the Staffs and Worcester canal.Popped over here with a boater friend from Diglis Basin in Worcester as I had seen this pub whilst walking along the canal towpath on one of my photographic exploratory walks.Lovely outdoors seating area with big tables and umbrellas and overlooking the canal below. The chips we ordered were so delicious and chunky and the real cask ales were superb with my Butty Bach on tap as it turned out...perfect. The house Chardonnay was exceptional too.A fantastic selection of proper pub snacks, scotch eggs, duck eggs, black pudding and freshly made sandwiches all there at the bar counter along with a fantastic selection of true cask ales on tap as well. Wow, we spent the glorious sunny afternoon here....how could we not?!Tom the lad serving at the bar was a charming character, ever so friendly, welcoming and cheerful and nothing deterred him from his smiling jovial demeanour with a full house of punters waiting to get their orders in at his bar counter...A BIG SHOUT OUT and HUGE THANK YOU to TOM and the REST OF the other STAFF serving outside too....WELL DONE YOU ALL!!! (Maybe I should have a word with the owners to give you all a bonus or raise, oops...)The food selection on the menu looked amazing and pity we weren't around to pop over for an evening meal as we had to chug on to the Staffs and Worcester canal early the next morning.DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PUB RESTAURANT HIGHLY, fantastic food, drinks and true proper real cask ales..Gorgeous location and buildings and apparently the Black Star has it's own chapel for venues and other functions..weddings, parties etc. but please do check with the staff and owners as i was told about it!Thanks Black Star for a most wonderful and amazing afternoon here!
