I've head a really great evening with delicious food in both the pub restaurant and the Pavilion next door. Lovely staff, great atmosphere, great food in a beautiful setting - what more could you ask?

Now reopened in early June 2022 after a major refurbishment; both the pub and adjacent Pavilion restaurant. The new pub interior is very modern, given the age of the building itself, but clean lines and tastefully done. Not much seating indoors but the main attraction is the huge riverside seating areas, including some covered space.Had a pulled pork and apple sauce sandwich with fries, one lunchtime, and outside drinks another evening. Friendly, helpful staff, and good food and beer (a very nice IPA). Overall a very good experience.

Easy to get to from main road, free parking, quiet. Food perfect, helpful, kind staff. Food ordered inside at bar, staff bring to your table.Outside coffee/pizza booth.

Absolutely great food, lovely outdoors eating area with picnic like tables, comfy and with lovely views over the Wye river's bank. Dog friendly outdoors, and lovely staff. What more can you ask? Easy access all along the river's bank, so disable people can enjoy as well. Thank you for our lovely meal. Main menu for two, with soft drinks, £30. Just perfect. Not to mention you could hire a canoe close by. Or a boat, and then finish off with a lovely meal or cooling drink. Perfect!! 🙏💙 MM

Wonderful setting... not the best coffee I've had, but I had a black coffee and I think it was just filtered coffee, rather than using their machine... a bit bitter and not very warm BUT the setting and service were brilliant so I've come away very happy and I will definitely be back.

I love the area and the views really are amazing. But I was absolutely shocked by how much the kids meal cost! £7.50, when it arrived at table the sausages were tiny and rock hard, beans were cold and it had about 10 chips on the plate! Was disappointed with this.

Lovely setting right by the river ...quiet and serene.Ordered food ....lamb burger and fish goujons...fries were hot and crisp freshly cooked lovely best part of the meal .....burger was dissapointing for the price...small and average. And only 4 small fish goujons, again dissapointed for the cost.....but all in all a pleasant visit. Cider was Ice cold served in the relevant glasses

Really pleased to see that the Hope and Anchor has reopened. We just stopped by on our way home for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Hopefully spend more time there in the future.

I really want to give The Pavilion 5 stars, if there was a 4.8 that’s what I’d score it. We’ve been here a few times and it is beautifully decorated and a fabulous spot bye the river Wye. The food is generally amazing, I really need to make sure I don’t put anyone off going here, it is totally worth a visit. We have eaten here on a few occasions and the only reason for the tiny slip is the Chicken burger I had last weekend. I was so disappointed, I expected crispy chicken fillets to be in my burger but instead there were two unappealing chicken round patties that looked like they came from a supermarket own value brand. They had no taste and I couldn’t eat my burger. Please management if you read this, your chicken burgers need to be as brilliant as your beef burgers. I will try this again in the future and hope the chef will change the chicken. If it’s still the same in the future my next review will reflect this more. I do love the Pavilion and will definitely return. Well done for everything else.

We had a fantastic evening at The Pavilion Restaurant. Staff were extremely attentive. Food was incredible! A real fine dining experience in Ross-on-Wye. Perfect setting for a special occasion. I had the pigs cheek followed by the fillet of beef. We were also given some beautiful breads with salts, butters and pickles (complementary) which was gorgeous! Cocktails also well worth having and great wine list. Will definitely be returning very soon!!
