Friendly staff and amazing carvery. Food lovely and hot and an excellent choice of vegetables and a really good price. First time there but certainly won't be the last.

Lovely place, not much seating inside but they also have a large garden out front for when the weather is nice. The carvery is an absolute bargain and they often have deals on such as kids carvery for free over holidays etc. Great help to parents and an incentive to visit. The food is really nice and a good selection of drinks too. You can ask for as much meat as you want on the carvery, no slithers of meat that you can see through.

The island pool had undergone a refurbishment since I last visited. I have been twice in the last three weeks- both at lunchtime.The staff were pleasant, the food was superb. Both times I had the carvery, the second time my Mother had the lamb shank which she said was perfect. If I had to give a negative it would be that it was rather cold inside, but wearing a jumper next time won't be a problem. Great place to have a cheap but very good lunch.

Excellent Carvery loads of veg and the desserts what a fantastic choice..the staff were marvellous nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend..ps.my granddaughter loved her bowl of custard thank you xx

Very nice place carvery excellent very well priced have been few times now ,first time took family they really enjoyed it ,can you please stock San miguel my favourite drink ,staff very helpful and polite would highly recommend this restaurant 😀

Lovely place run by lovely people. Food was very good! The staff couldn't do more to host our large party (moving tables to accommodate us altogether.... On a Saturday night too). Thank you for having us. We will be back.

A meal with the family to celebrate our Sons Birthday. Beautiful carvery & a 2 for 1 on main menu . Great choice of meals & enjoyed the food very much. Staff are very friendly too.

Excellent carvery, loads of meat help ureself to veg. All steaming hot. Couldn't fault it. Great value 2 courses for £9.99. Lemon roulade was lovely as well. Friendly staff welcoming atmosphere. Will return 👍👍👍👍👍

This was our first visit to The Island Pool, we went as a group of 4! Quite busy as it was half price on a Monday, we booked our table for 6.30. The atmosphere was lovely and warm and staff were friendly. The food was amazing,I had lamb shank, husband had gammon, egg and chips, daughter had fish and chips and her boyfriend had a mushroom and spinach lasagna. All meals were amazing, and only £22 for 4 meals, couldn't fault anything. Will definitely be returning.

We visited this pub on recommendation and whilst the food was 'reasonable' the whole experience was, sadly, not a particularly positive one.The vegan/vegetarian option was a plate of vegetables with just a £2 reduction. Every carvery I've visited has always offered a vegetarian option. However they did offer a vegetarian gravy but we had to ask 3 times before it was brought out by which time the dinner was going cold.If you chose to have all 4 meats on offer you get a good portion but if you choose to have 1 or 2 meats you get just a small slice of each. We had to ask for an additional slice. The station where the gravy and condiments were was filthy, all it needed was for one of the waitresses to keep an eye on it and wipe the ladle handle and table.The deserts were very nice but it took a long time for them to bring them out. Not sure why as they were all cold deserts and ordered together. Then we were asked to leave the table as our booking had over run - I fully understand it was booked but if we hadn't had to wait for the gravy and the deserts we would have vacated the table on time.It was good to see they cleaned the tables but smothering the table next to us with strong smelling cleaner whilst we were eating wasn't particularly nice. Even the waitress said she found it a bit toxic.I don't think we'll be returning
