Excellent food. Came quickly and hot. Reasonable prices.Very friendly staff.Only downside states dog friendly on website and on board in enterance to restaurant. But was informed on sitting at the table that dogs were only able to go into one part of the restaurant. This made things a bit awkward as there was 10 of us and the area we were moved into was not really suitable for a large party. But on the whole had a great time.Think they need to amend website with better information.

Nice relaxed meal with efficient and polite staff. Didn't have to wait and food was amazing. Would definately recommend visiting.Multiple visits now and always great service, tasty food and good drink choices. Can recommend the Sunday roasts. Katie our server was polite and gave very good service.

Why bother with the menu at all?At the point of ordering off a menu in a restaurant it’s always a good policy to advise the customer that you don’t have certain items ...I ordered Ciabatta with Smoked cheese, prosciutto and roasted pepper. What I actually got was some over toasted brown bread, Bacon and gherkins! There’s almost an arrogance by the chef that wouldn’t be spotted. Under normal circumstances it would’ve gone straight back, but unfortunately the wait to have our order taken, and the time it took for the food to come out precluded that. Not a good dining experience at all

Seven of us turned up last minute and they welcomed and seated us with no problems. The pub itself is full of character and very clean and welcoming. The food cannot be faulted, so much choice, all meals came together and served piping hot, every meal was delicious. Price wise definitely value for money. Only critic is cocktail menu poor, but everything else spot on.

Visiting the area and fancied a Sunday lunch. I'd score 2 out of 5 for their Sunday roast dinner and 5 out of 5 for the wonderful service from all their staff. If they sorted out their catering they'd be onto a winner. A few items weren't available, shame, they really need to up their food game. Room was very cold, no log fire was lit when we visited. In summary; visit for a drink but wrap up warm, don't bother with the food.

Good food, at a good price. They were able to accommodate a party of 8 of us when we found the restaurant that we'd booked closed with no notice...! We all ate well, enjoyed our meals - and the service was excellent.

The service today was very slow in terms of getting served by the team. It was quick to receive the main meal but it took a long time to get dessert and a drink I had ordered. I never even received the drink! The food quality was fine but the Bakewell tart was served cold. The pub was clean and tidy. I saw other customers complaining about the waiting time and it is evident they were short staffed and needs to be a key improvement point in the future. I would not consider visiting again but ever since I last visited 2 years ago it has got worse.

Booked 2 people for 2pm. We had to ask them to take order, waitress said it was because there were a lot of people waiting so it would be a while. Food came around 3 30ish. My friend had the veggie option and was very pleased with it. I had turkey roast, very disappointed. There were new or roast potatoes on menu but it was either or. Then I was told mash was an option so I chose mash. I would say It was frozen mash that had been microwaved for too long and was hard around the edges . 1 slice of turkey. Not good value or quality. Some staff more friendly than others. Would try elsewhere next time.

Was driving back from the safari park and saw the great reviews online. Was very disappointed. Could feel the tension between staff members esp the waitresses. Was told there were no tables available but booked online and got seated. The food took ages to arrive. They had ran out of lots of things but nobody stated this until we had already ordered. The trio of roasts was very dry, meat was overcooked, no beef available. Spoke to the manager who then took off this meal but nothing else was offered as an apology. The table behind us were having the same issues and waiting time was a long time considering the place was only half full. Was very disappointed.

This pub was a charming country pub within a short distance from the safari park by car.We were greater with a warm welcome by all the staff and were greated to our table. The staff were very attentive with taking our order, and were very kind to the children. We took advantage of their 3 course dinner option. The standard of food for the price was exceptional; good quality and well presented. Along with speedy food service. The children enjoyed the outside slide and playground after food before heading home.Family friendly venue and well organized
