A small group of us enjoyed Christmas Dinner yesterday at Amelia’s. The traditionally decorated dining room, and warm friendly welcome from the staff was much appreciated. Our table, complete with Christmas crackers looked lovely.Starters included a Spicy Parsnip soup, and Pate which was my choice and much enjoyed. Although there were other options, including Vegetarian, we all chose Turkey for our main course. Beautifully cooked, melt in the mouth meat with all the traditional accompaniments. Roast potatoes, parsnips and honey glazed carrots. Sprouts, swede and red cabbage…and proper gravy! Wine or soft drinks were included. Then came Christmas pud, (other options available) followed by delicious mince pies with an almond crumble topping, accompanied by pots of tea or coffee…and After Eight Mints. The service was faultless, staff attentive without being intrusive.All in all, a really delightful, memorable experience. Thank you Amelia’s, we will be back!

We had a Christmas lunch at Amelia's tea room today. The food was really nice and lots of it. The service was excellent. The attention to detail was outstanding. We want to go back next Christmas.

Had an absolutely amazing book launch at Amelia’s. The team went out of their way to create the most magical and special event. I was actually emotional when I saw how beautiful they had arranged everything. It was above and beyond what I had imagined and they remembered all the special requests (thank you for the wine on arrival!) The food was fantastic and I can not recommend Amelia’s enough as a venue for an event, or simply for a spot of lunch. Huge thank you to all the team.

Staff were friendly, prices were reasonable. Unfortunately the food reflected the low price and wasn't particularly good. Service also faltered when my wife asked for no mushrooms with her breakfast since she is allergic; they failed to remember, then simply scooped them off the edge of the plate leaving some residue mixed with the beans. Thankfully her allergy isn't sensitive enough for this to be a problem, but someone could become very ill if they were less tolerant.
