Ashburnham Hotel Restaurant in Carmarthenshire

It may be a 3 star hotel but has 5 star service.Well done Sue and Ashley in making an excellent first impression, both really friendly and professional and both with sense of humour. Even the chap doing some maintenance was friendly and more than happy to show me how to get the key out of the lock…. It’s been a long day!Oh and the menu for vegetarians isn’t bad and the Pino Grigio recommended was pretty good!

Sunday carvery celebrating both my daughters birthdays. Table service was exceptional. But waitress who took payment was rude and passed personal derogatory comments on our payment method. I heard everything she said. Will not return in a hurry.

I've been here many times in the past, the food was always great and service with a smile.Today I visited for food and coffee, the latte was ok, the food was disgusting. The new owners have really lowered the bar. Burger is nasty, it's the absolute cheapest pate on the planet, faggots we're cold in the middle. It's clearly microwaved garbage. The chips are NOT fresh, they are frozen or chilled. The salad was warmer than our hot food.We waited almost an hour for food, 4 people in total served us and kept asking if we're ok. After expressing my displeasure at waiting 45 minutes, the starter came out the same time as our mains. Completely below average and only shows the kitchen and staff messed up our order.We only had one bite of each meal. The owner handed me off to the young waitress after I refused to pay, her excuse is "we're new". The owner is rude, the waitress was very courteous, polite and understanding. I wish I grabbed her name. She needs to work at a better place, it's unfair the owner couldn't be bothered dealing with a legit complaint.I refused to pay for anything and left. Seriously don't go to this dump of a restaurant. Let them close down. If you can't even complete the basic fundamentals of cooking, expect negative reviews and eventually loss of business.I wasn't expecting anything other than good food. They failed.

Really poor quality of food. Although the beers were good. I had a lasagne that seemed as though it'd been sat in the fridge for a week and was pretty tasteless - also the pasta sheets were hard which wasn't particularly enjoyable. My wife had fish and chips which looked good but on cutting the batter on the fish oil just pooled out onto the plate. They were very accommodating with our 10 month old son but I really can't think of anything more positive to say. We won't be returning.

Popped in for a pint one Sunday afternoon. It was okay, clean and tidy but that was about it. It lacks style and character and a feeling of warmth! Probably won't go back! Must add that the barman on duty was very friendly and attentive.

Very nice lunch in the conservatory. Excellent staff delicious food in a very good location. Meals very reasonably priced. Lots of dates with arranged entertainment for the future, booking probably essential. Considering hospitality has had such a difficult time during covid this place has a lot to offer. Recommended.
