·

Best fish&chips I've had in a while , can definitely recommend this place .

·

Just had Rissole and chips from there. Expensive and not very nice. Won’t be going there again

·

A chip shop with cafe in the centre of Newcastle Emlyn. Nothing posh about this place but the food is good and plentiful. Card machine was broken on day of my visit. Well worth a visit.

·

Staff rude to myself and to some young adults I am carer for. No need for it and made them feel bad when they are practising being able to order for themselves.

·

Friendly staff and freshly cooked food. One way system in place and encouraged to wait outside until food was ready (and then brought out). Chips were really tasty. Not cheap but for a small town you'd expect a little mark up on price.I'd recommend and I'd return.

I visited this establishment recently as it was getting late and I hadn’t eaten after a long round of Golf so I chose the Central Cafe (one out of two fish & chip shops in Newcastle Emlyn) to go to. The exterior had nicely been redone since I last visited and the layout inside was very straightforward and COVID 19 secure. The menu has a good variety of options and the food was ready very quickly so I did not need to wait around long. My only fault with this place was the quality of food. The chips seemed very soggy and tasteless and the scampi was overcooked and very hard. This might just have been because it was getting late but I have heard from locals that it is not as good as the other chippy in Emlyn. Overall it is a nice place but the quality of food is not up to scratch and would be more inclined to try the other next time!

It was a very average chippy. I caught them just as they were shutting, so the variety of food was quite poor. My chicken couldn’t have been harder even if it was carrying a flicknife, and the chips were pretty brown. Not great for £15 tbh. I’ll try them again, but really only down to the lack of local competition!

Ordered fish and chips and king rib slaw and chips fish itself nice batter brown dry and burnt chips horrendous cooked in old fat brown and soggy no salt and vinegear King rib is an iceland joking rib cooked until dry in microwave and tasteless coleslaw could have been anything as no taste whatsoever ever had from here before was lovely gone down hill for ÂŁ14.50 I won't waste another penny in there

We stopped off on our journey and had battered sausage, chips and curry sauce. Best sausage I have ever had from a chippie, crispy batter and decent sausage. The chips were also crispy with fluffy centres. Delicious. I wish I lived in Newcastle Emlyn!

If I could have given minus stars I would have. The chips were disgusting. The younger staff were lovely but the "woman" who seemed to think she run the place was rude and disrespectful to my 94 year old Mamgu. As a customer who has more experience in her little finger than the "womans" she is allowed to have an opinion on the quality of the chips she was served.I didn't appreciate the disrespectful tone towards her and the way she made her feel. In fact she was shaken.I've taken the time to write this review so please take note. Avoid like the plague
