Sessile Oak in Carmarthenshire

After booking a large table for Mother’s Day, 10 adult meals, we were phoned this morning by a very rude obnoxious “manager” who claimed we booked a table for 11.30 when we had booked for 1.30, we had even phoned to confirm this, the week leading up to Mothering Sunday. What we were told this morning was “well we can’t magic you a fing table” not that we expected that, we expected the one we initially booked at 1.30. I’m not fan of the Cecil oak however my mother is and this has upset her and us no end. To think that managers can speak to customers with very little regard of how or what they maybe going through is concerning. I’m absolutely disgusting and disappointed with the Marston chain and how their managers behave.My mother eats at the Cecil oak frequently but that now will change..!!! I will also be contacting head office about this. Disgusting, disrespectful and down right rude!!!

Went for the Carvey last Sunday. Fantastic food but kept enough room for a nice dessert too. Staff and very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back

Chose mixed meats, medium size. Good portion of meat and self service veg. The cauliflower and broccoli were both undercooked- not Al dente and might as well have been raw. Nobody asked how the meal was either

Just had a carvery & the food was absolutely lovely. The waiter Daniel had impeccable manners & very attentive. All in all I would recommend going to anyone.

The food is always lovely and we are regular customers who tend to visit at least once a week. The staff is always pleasant and courteous and the venue is always clean. Would highly recommend :)

Been going since it first opened and usually happy worst ever today. Table service due to covid was non existent, food cold greasy and VERY salty, meat dry, yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets inedible. Put off going back.

They do one of the best carvery I have ever had. Even the medium size was too much for me. My wife and sister in law go very often while shopping and I went there for the first (but 100%not the last) time on Monday 20th December. Staff friendly and place is spotless, ample parking and pub grub looked stunning as my daughter had the gammon and egg.

Enjoyed a lovely Carvery Lunch with Gluten Free Pigs in Blankets and Gravy. First visit with friends who have recently moved to the Llanelli Area. Staff very attentive, service excellent, I'm we'll be back again.

We found booking in very easy and were soon in our room. The room was everything we expected, a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, hot drinks and a big TV. It was all very clean. There was lots of space which we appreciate. It was noisy around the car parks around midnight on the first night. We enjoyed the breakfasts and an evening meal on Saturday. The staff were really helpful, friendly and attentive whenever we encountered them. Impressive!

We had a carvery and my daughter made a choice off the main menu. Her order came super quick and all the food was tasty and hot. Prices are reasonable and service good. Would recommend especially if you want a quick pit stop from shopping.
