We arrived to stay at local cottage and had a superb meal here at short notice. Magnificent

Beautiful pub with very friendly service and excellent food but when you go here, make sure you're hungry because the portions are huge! Next time we're in the area we'll happily come back again.

Lovely pub well worth the drive out. Friendly staff and a good menu with veggie choices too! We would happily visit again.

ATMOSPHERE: 10/10TABLE: 10/10FOOD: 7/10PRICE: 5/10I came here with my family on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was excellent, not too busy, so we had no trouble hearing eachother. They had a great playlist playing at a low level to fill dead air when everyone is busy eating which really elevated the mood.We had the rump steak, foresters burger, the fishcakes, garden burger and the steak and ale pie. Everyone enjoyed thier meals and the staff were very friendly and polite when taking our order. For dessert we ordered the bread and butter pudding with custard, although it came with the option of icecream or cream as well, and my dad ordered the cheesecake. As you can see, the dish was flooded in custard (which was great for us but might be something to note) and overall I found it to be slightly underwhelming for Β£7.Overall, we had a great experience :)Thank you for taking the time to read this review!

First of all I want to say the service was really nice. I had ordered a coconut lemon chicken curry and it dit not have much taste ( to put it mildly). I said norhing at first cause of the nice service. When I left I did say the plate did not have much taste. The advize I got was to get A covid test cause there must be some wrong with my taste. ??? That is just rude.I was flabbergasted by such an onprofessional reaction. My bf also had a taste and agreed with me.Well things like this can happen but not this kind of reaction. Very dissapointed and no reason to get rude. The dessert was lovely by the way.

Nice friendly place for food & drink with the added bonus that the dogs are allowed in in certain parts of the pub. Came back a few times whilst out here ! Advanced booking is required.

Β·

Excellent home made food, we had lamb rump, venison casserole & a burger, all was delicious. Friendly and responsive service. The place is dog friendly. Make sure to book as it gets busy dinner time.

Lovely place and excellent food. Really enjoyed, both the food and the place.

The restaurant faculties are excellent, with a vaulted ceiling and stone walls. The food was excellent, home-made and tasty; the menu extensive and varied. The service was pleasant and with a good element of humour. Dogs are welcomed and having neglected to bring our own food for our dog, we were given a dog bowl, in which we could feed her a sausage and s few chips. We will definitely be returning.

First time visit last night for a evening meal, lovely pub with great staff who was very attentive to customers.A big variety of choice on the menu to which we had difficulty choosing from so much so we will be going back to make our way through the menu. And the cheesecake desserts were amazing.Absolutely worth the 5 star review.
