The Old Curiosity in Carmarthenshire

We booked Sunday lunch at The New Curiosity and we were completely astounded with the quality of the food we received! Genuinely the best food I have ever tasted, mains came with an wide variety of veg sides and more than enough between the two of us. Honestly the best mash and red cabbage I have ever had! Very reasonable prices too considering the portion sizes and absolutely outstanding quality of food. Rachel in the front of house is so lovely and caring and will do anything to make your dining experience the best possible. We will definitely be returning very soon!

Had a 3 course Sunday Roast here and it was incredible.Starter of roasted garlic, tomato and basil soup was very good with some crusty bread and real, soft butter with it. Perfect appetiser on a cold day.The Sunday Roast itself was delicious - I had the pork and my girlfriend had the chicken. Meat was cooked perfectly, plenty of gravy, loads of delicious vegetables as well - red cabbage, crispy roasties and mash, glazed parsnips & carrots and more. Big portions.Had the affogato for dessert which was unreal. The vanilla and salted caramel ice cream with the Teifi coffee was so so good.Cosy atmosphere, food brought out promptly and the staff were friendly and attentive. Very reasonably priced menu too considering the quality. Really was a 10/10 experience.We were sat by the bar and could hear the other customers’ comments as they paid for their meals, and every one of them was full of praise too… one man said it was the best roast he’d had all year (and I’d have to agree!).Will definitely be coming back and will be recommending to anyone and everyone.

We had an absolutely fantastic meal. The food was phenomenal and the service excellent. It was or 1 year wedding anniversary and we couldn't have wished for a nicer welcoming place. Found it completely out the blue and will be heading back.

My wife booked a meal for my birthday it could not have been better the food was outstanding, the service was excellent and I would say that this restaurant is on par with a Michelin star restaurant

It’s great to see, given the situation, how adaptable some businesses have been. We had a takeaway for 5 of us with a spread of the menu; Rachel and the team here blew us away. Couldn’t fault the dishes which were all hot and fresh and some great customer service. We look forward to coming back when the restaurants open again to eat properly. Fantastic food with welcoming staff, always one of our two go to places in Carmarthen for eating out. measures sensibly put in place during the pandemic for a safe but enjoyable Evey out.

FANTASTIC .!!Fresh, lovely decor in a relaxed setting. Staff polite and attentive. Attended a birthday meal here, which was a table of 16 adults and 4 children. All food came out perfectly and delicious. Good portion sizes. Good choice of desserts, which were enjoyed by thoes who had them. We all had a pleasant evening. Highly recommended.😁

Amazing food once again, pate was spot on, duck with the red wine was great and the dessert of panicotte was delicious. Would recommend anyone to go. 1st class service and amazing food. Even the baby got in there.
