Staff friendly and a great source of information. We drive up from Milford Haven ( an hour ) just to visit this store. Great selection of new and used vinyl as well as other music products. FANTASTIC PLACE TO VISIT.

Probs the best record shop in Wales. The staff really love music, and are more than happy to recommend stuff for you. Friendly, laid back. Just a really lovely experience. Like record shops should be.

Record stores are somewhat of an endangered species– the internet has either turned record stores into front-end ebay stockists or wiped them off the chart entirely.When my husband and I visited Carmarthen, our friend recommended us the Tangled Parrot. At first you might miss it when you don't know where to look. The Tangled Parrot can be found in the small but nevertheless very vital local art and music district in King St.When you enter the building you feel set back a bit in history– the old house, the abandoned interior of the previous pub below the record shop which is located upstairs. Everything smells a bit like the house of grandpa and grandma, the stairs creak a bit and you feel welcome immediately.Upstairs is Matt's lair and he welcomes you with open arms. Truly, if anyone deserves to be called a record seller of old charm and manners, Matt is the one. He has a profound knowledge of his stocked music and he recommends you stuff you have never heard before but want to take with you before leaving. Matt is someone who enjoys talking and he knows several stories from musicians around. A kind soul and helpful guy who has a lovely sidekick as well: a Welsh Corgi! Shopping is lovely with these two companions.The music is presented in a thoughtful way, everything is priced in a fair way. Keep in mind here is someone living off the shop. Matt offers some great gems of the welsh music scene: I took the CD "Haul Ar Yr Eira" of Pererin ‎with me as a souvenir.If you land in Carmarthen, check the local bakery, choose a apple pie with cinnamon and take the route afterwards to the Tangled Parrot. Took my daughter to the new store on high street Swansea today for a browse.. nice little shop.. very helpful.. my daughter managed to get a few new lps at a good price so she's happy.. she deffo going to be popping in for a coffee and browse with her friends. If you cant find the shop just keep looking, it is on the same side as the old Argos 👍

Great second hand record shop situated above a pub, in Carmarthen. Selling all kinds of rarities both on vinyl and CD.Prices range from moderate to expensive but considering that some of the items are hard to come by it's well worth a visit.The owner of the shop is friendly and helpful, and he has the cutest dog. He's also very knowledgeable (the owner, not the dog!!)
