The Savoy in Carmarthenshire

Very friendly staff very good looking food being served. We had a drink outside many benched seating areas and toilets were clean. This Brains Hotel has a lot to offer with children's play area. Ideal for Bus trip stop providing the catering staff are available to deal with large sitting.

Staff friendly food was lovely as expected. Was hot and served well. Menu made every thing sound so delicious I found it hard to choose. We visited here seven years ago and was glad it was as nice as we remembered 😊

Great staff, very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing full of flavour if your passing make sure you drop in probably the best meal and dining out experience you will have all year.

Travelled 20 miles from Tenby . 6 adult family members , 2 disabled. Venue, staff, food, faultless an excellent choice we made. Warm surroundings accessible entrance & facilities. Anyone within 20 miles driving distance from here " Make the effort it's worth it"

We had a enjoyable lunch with my uncle, who lives in St Clears. On arrival we appreciated a typical warm, but unobtrusive Welsh welcome that made us feel instantly at home.The food was wholesome and tasty and at very reasonable cost, compared to what we’re used.The duty manager, Kayla, was very personable and strongly invested in making the Savoy a success. It would be good if Brains could match that commitment with some investment in the building, which is need of some refurbishment. This is why I scored a 4 rather than a 5 out of 5.

We visited the Savoy today as we had previously visited last summer on our way to Tenby on holidays and had an amazing experience. However, today it was not good. We had booked a table. Once we had decided what we wanted to order my partner went to the bar and really struggled. He ordered the kids food without any issues but when it came to ours it was a different story, he wanted cod and chips and was told there would be an extra 20minute wait so decided on chicken instead, I wanted gammon but did not want chips so asked for a jacket potato or new potatoes. He was told this was not possible as they were not serving them today as they didn't want to put extra strain on the kitchen staff so my only option was chips. Due to dietary requirements and the fat used this was not ok for me so I didn't have any food. when he went to order the kids deserts he observed other people have issues ordering the food they wanted and they had to go through three items before being told something was available. When thefood arrived it was a massive contrast to the food we had eaten there last summer, the portion sizes were awful and there were a handful of chips with what looked like a frozen battered chicken for £10+. The kids meals weren't great either. While we were there we had three meals brought to our table meant for other tables and the staff were not amazing. When we had been before the staff had gone above and beyond but this time it seemed an effort to engage with the customers. The toilets there were not great and both male and female toilets smelled awful. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

I put off posting this, but it needs to be said.When we were at the Savoy over Easter, there was a gentleman on the bar who was clearly training, and a lady who was a manager serving another customer. The gent was making a cocktail and made a mistake - the woman then proceeded to call him out for it, shouted at him and then said to the man she was serving 'you can't get the staff these days'.Now don't get me wrong, I know we all get frustrated, but her attitude stunk!! She was telling him to start again because the measurement of soda water was probably wrong as he free poured rather than used a measurer. He politely said sorry and felt as though he hadn't poured much and it was probably about right.So, instead of wasting the drink he used his initiative and went over to the lady and asked if it was okay, or whether she indeed wanted more or less soda. The venue was quiet so I could hear this. She was fine with it and so he came back and served me promptly, efficiently and politely.The ironic thing is, the same woman forgot a coffee I ordered with her, and I had to ask again as I had waited for over 20 minutes by this point.I own a Recruitment Agency specialising in Hospitality, and I would 110% give that gent a job.The lady didn't paint herself in a good light, and I wouldn't mind betting that staff leave because of her. I know the old Recruitment Managers very well from when it was Brains, so I am half tempted to see if they know who is in charge at their Head Office to give them feedback.If you are reading this and you are the lady in question, take it from as an industry expert of almost 20 years, this industry is small. People talk. Take time to work on your leadership and management skills - people leave managers more often than they leave organisations.To the man who served us...thank you, you were amazing!

Had a lovely meal yesterday, was greeted by a blonde very helpful and friendly waitress. She took our order at the table rather than us oldies having to get up. She’s a credit to the company.The food was beautiful. The sausages were nice and juicy and the chicken cooked perfectly.

Just called in for a refreshing drink after a long journey. Very friendly and a good atmosphere, although we didn't eat the menu looked pretty good. Well worth a visit 😉

We ordered the Sunday Lunch sharing platter, the top edges of the sliced meat were dry, as if been precut and left too long under heat lamps, the meals off of the normal menu were enjoyed. We did give our feedback at the end of the meal and were offered an extra drink of dessert.
