What a lovely place! Stayed last night and we couldn't pick one fault with the place, didn't eat here but had drinks at the bar, staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially ceri and trey, nothing was too much for them to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Check in was very quick and easy, Our room was lovely, spotless throughout, bed was extremely comfortable (which made it extremely hard to get out of it this morning lol) thoroughly enjoyed, great value for money, will definitely return again soon.

there was no reception to lead to the table and advise the system for food. there wasn't enough bar staff resulting in long ques. the gin selection was good. it was under staffed and under prepared. the man behind the carvery asked us twice our booking name and still it took over an hour to get our starters and even then the bread was stale and the prawn cocktail was warm. it took nearly an hour for someone to collect our plates and then they took half and had to be asked to take the rest. we requested a highchair and it didn't come until the third time we asked. eventually we took it upon ourselves to go up and get the food and then there was items missing and had to wait. the Yorkshire pudding was dry and cold, but the rest of the food was nice. the chocolate caramel tart was too sweet and could have used ice cream with it. overall the service was slow and unorganised, there seemed to be too many people for not enough wait staff, and there was no social distancing or masks being worn by staff or customers. on a normal day it is very good but this service didn't seem well prepared.

Works Christmas dinner, absolutely shocking is an understatement.Pros: 2 young waitresses working in the function room were very helpfulCons: Food was very poor, despite paying £36 a head and having to pre-order• Service from the bar staff in function room was disappointing, unhelpful at best.• The food options were limited, which isn’t a problem if they can serve good food• Food wasn’t served at the same time.• Dirty dishes and glasses• Draught beer was old, not consumableIf you are unable to deliver the service required, don’t serve it at all.2 stars for the two helpful waitresses.

Stayed the night (great deal) and had lovely food and drinks in the evening. Definitely choose to take advantage of the food special deals they have each day, you'll be shocked at how low your bill is at the end of the night. Kind staff, good food, clean toilets. Would highly recommend going again.

We had a very nice short brake using this hotel as our base. The staff were always pleasant and helpful even going out to get a remote for the TV as the one in our room was missing. The food was lovely with a good choice and the bar has a great choice. The only reason we gave 4 stars was because the bathroom was a bit shabby and Could do with a update.

A very welcoming hotel in a very convenient location to access the town centre. The staff a very well trained. The check in is carefully managed. Care has been taken to ensure that the hotel is following Covid protocols. The food and drink is of a good standard. Care is taken to present the food carefully and to check that customers expectations are being met.The rooms are clean and tidy and are receiving upgrades. The beds could do with being a little larger as they appear to be smaller than a double bed size.Car parking is available on both sides of the building with wheel chair access to the function room and restaurant however not to the bedrooms.A very positive experience for the price charged.
