Caddies Cafe in Pembrokeshire

My mother-in-law said to try it out. So she took us here. Initially I didn't want to go in, it was so loud, literally couldn't hear anything but noise from people talking and laughing. Really close quarters in there too. But I'm glad I stayed to have food. I had sausage bacon and egg and they were delicious. Bacon, good, sausage, good, egg, good.Milkshake, good.Good staff too, they were very busy though.

Food was good as usual, but you do have to wait a while. Coffee was finished long before food arrived. Staff were overstretched, we were overcharged and told they'd sort it, too busy to rectify though.Definitely need to extend as so busy in such a small premise. Seemed over the top noisy as per the previous visit, it seems amplified for some reason. Staff are friendly but Definitely understaffed

Great novel place with decent food. Had breakfast which was plentiful then had fun on driving range

Lovely place, lovely food, gets very busy, staff very friendly and would definitely go again maybe on a quieter day.

Really enjoyed the breakfast. Lovely and clean. No grease on the plate will be our place for breakfast from now on

Fab place, belly busting food, well recommended. Don't be surprised if its full when you get there and you can't find a seat!

Overall a really good breakfast. Looking through the window onto the driving range. Delicious coffee, and all the ingredients for the breakfast were of good quality, the sausages were a lite bit under browned but still tasted good, egg cooked perfectly, the baked beans weren't swimming in sauce but were really nicely reduced down. The one lady working did her job very well, the cafe was spotless, the meals all came out hot and nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely be back.

We were staying with friends in Haverford West and they took us to Caddies, Mayfield, Haverford West a Cafe with a Golf Range to the rear for Sunday Breakfast.It seemed this place was a local institution as it was bursting with customers most tucking into a Full Breakfast though there were other options available.There were family groups including what looked like a birthday breakfast for a ‘little princess’ dressed in a pink Fairy costume (or perhaps it was a Bridesmaids dress) either way it including a diamond studded Tiara which you dont often see in a Cafe?Other customers weren’t quite so well dressed.They offer a range of different breakfast with the Albatross being the biggest and baddest.4 sausages, 4 bacon, 3 hash brans, 2 fried eggs, 2 fried bread, 2 black pudding, baked beans, mushrooms and toast. (It doesn’t say on the menu just how much toast is provide)We had a table reserved which was a good thing as the staff were obviously over stretched.When we sat at the table the sleeves of my shirt stuck to the table. The surface was so sticky the place mats were impossible to remove and the sauce bottles were held in place as if by Super glue.There was a lot of noise amplified by the construction of the building which gave everything a tinny sound.The menu looked good and I was excited to see it was also very cheap with the small breakfast (The Birdie) at £5, the medium (The Eagle) at £6.95 and the monster (Albatross) at £9.95. All Golf themed.All included Tea or Coffee which saves at least a quid a meal.We had to go up to the counter to order and there was a queue.The lady taking the orders behind some sort of screen was also making and serving the teas and coffees and taking the money.This was clearly a bad business decision as it took far too long and prone to mistakes (one of our drinks had to go back) and it was a Health and Safety disaster waiting to happen.However, we eventually gave our order and paid. It was then a case of waiting though we did have our drinks to keep us going and we could watch the punters trying to hit their golf balls out side of the window.Sadly there wasn't anywhere on the table to put our waste so the litter from our drinks had no home and inevitably ended up stuck to the table.When the food came it looked good though they had fallen into the trap of piling everything on the same plate which isn’t a great idea.Luckily the toast had been placed on the other side of the plate from the baked beans so it didn’t get soggy but the egg was buried. I did eat my two 1/4 slices of Fried Bread which i dont usually do and I really enjoyed it though the calorie count will be colossal.In summary this was a good place for breakfast as long as you dont want a long leisurely brunch with ‘good conversation’.It was almost impossible to hear anything for the back ground noise.But it was comfortable and relatively cheap.Service was ‘Ok’ but the staff were clearly rushed and they had little time to engage with customers.If I had been out all night and needed a 'full fat boys' to soak up the alcohol Caddies would be a perfect choice.
