Stayed here for a night while visiting relatives locally and had a very warm welcome by Nicole then showed to a lovely room which was immaculate with everything you'd expect plus more.Karen was a great host in the bar in the evening and my wife and I really enjoyed her company. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a great choice at breakfast from cereals, orange juice and a full cooked breakfast. Looking forward to stopping there again on next visit to Pembroke.

Friendly, looked after us. Nice room , clean . Evening meal and breakfast was good. Lovely walk to Tenby Town along the beach. Be happy to stay there again.

Visited in November, room extremely clean and comfortable. Great breakfast and lovely helpful team.Only fault would be how quiet the bar/restaurant was, making very little atmosphere, probably better on season though.Nice local pub in Penally

On our recent trip to Tenby, we visited the New Overlander Inn for dinner. We’d been a year or two previously and although it was a little disappointing before, we thought we’d try again. I had Lasagne and my husband had the Belly Pork. The food was delicious and the service excellent. It was not super-fast service, but with the times we’re in, and knowing there are staff shortages in places, we didn’t mind and it wasn’t a very long time to wait. It’s a nice place to sit in and we just enjoyed it. We then booked up for dinner later in the week as it was lovely. On our return visit we saw other people who were also in on our previous visit, so that tells you it must be good. This time, I had the Chicken & Feta and wow, it was amazing! One of the nicest meals I’ve had, delicious. My husband had the Chicken Pie, which he also found delicious, the only point he made was that it would have been nice to have a little jug of gravy in addition. Again, the service was really good and very polite, helpful staff. Overall, we enjoyed both our visits, the food and service were great, and we’d definitely come back again the next time we’re in the area.

Tasty, good value pub food. My braised steak was tender and served with a yummy sauce! All meals came with well cooked fresh vegetables. Staff were cheerful and friendly. Would love to return!

Went here for my birthday meal with my husband and had pre booked our table. I had seen the menu on line and was really looking forward to ordering the lamb shank. On arrival I said we had booked a table for two and there was also a group of four waiting to be seated. There seemed some confusion with the bookings and the guy said I will just take you all to your tables, not one party at a time. No masks were worn by the staff and the menus were paper and not laminated. After around 10 mins he asked what we wanted to drink. He used our table to lean on whilst writing down our order with no mask on and no social distancing. I asked for a Cointreau and lemonade. He seemed very confused and just looked at me blankly. I had to repeat myself four times and in the end had to point it out to him at the bar. He asked if I wanted a double and I said no, a single is fine. We ordered our meals lamb shank for two with potatoes and vegetables. Not long after our dinner came and the lamb was extremely tough and we both found it very hard to cut. Not the melt in your mouth tender lamb we normally have. It was dry, chewy and full of gristle we were both so disappointed. We were also served cauliflower cheese which my husband and I both dislike and the carrots and broccoli were extremely undercooked. We decided not to have a sweet and I had to ask the guy three times for the bill. When it came I checked it and we had been charged twice for Cointreau and lemonade. He asked us if we enjoyed our meal and my husband said that the lamb was extremely chewy and he started telling us when he went to London and went to a community centre and had lamb?????? No apology. We were going to book for the next evening but we were so disappointed and even more so as it was my birthday that we will find somewhere else. Do not recommend.

Excellent food, highly recommended. Had a lot of problems finding somewhere to dine out during our stay in Tenby due to industry wide staff shortages, so we consider ourselves very fortunate to find a table at this Hostelry. Although very busy (due to lack of staff), we found the service to be excellent and very attentive and although it took a little while to arrive, the food was top notch. Enjoyed it so much we booked up for dinner on the remaining nights of our holiday. Only complaint was they would not let us bring the Chef home with us !. Prices also very good!. So if you are searching for somewhere to eat around Tenby, give the New Overlander a try, You will not be disappointed

It was really nice to visit the restaurant again. The food was as nice as I remembered the batter on my cod was light and crisp. The restaurant was very busy. The staff where excellent dealing very well with the covid restrictions. We all look forward to seeing you in September for my birthday

Had a great meal. I had the lamb shank and my partner had the stewed beef. Service was very good considering that only 2 staff serving. The young lady who served us was so cheerful and chatty. Top marks to all the staff. Will be popping in for one of your breakfast on Saturday before our 300 mile drive home.
