The Contented Sole in Pembrokeshire

Very soggy batter, and chips not cooked enough. Worst fish and chips ever. We threw both lots in the bin. Fish meat itself wasn't too bad, but for some reason they seem to be taking the food out of the fryers far too early. Shame because staff were friendly enough. Won't be visiting again I'm sorry to say

Love this establishment.It's busy here which is a good sign.Food is freshly fried and served with a smile.Definitely recommend the food from here and will be returning again.Parking can be a bit hit and miss in Narberth but a lap around the town will usually find a space.

Visited about 10 minutes before closing time so knew I'd be pushing my luck for a availability of the full menu.As soon as I entered I was asked if I wanted fish as they were just on the last of the batter, after that they weren't making any more fish as they were closing. The fryer was quite open that he wouldn't be starting to cook anything else that time of night. If it was already on the counter then that was the choice.Customers that came in after me were grumbling that there was no more fish and that they wouldn't cook any more, before leaving.What did the customers expect turning up a few minutes before closing!Some may describe the attitude of the fryer as rude; I didn't think so, it made me smile. He was just honest.And as a bonus the chips were great!

Had a great fish & chips with mushy peas dinner. Staff were friendly, service was quick. My go to chippy when in the area.

Just drove all the way home (20min drive) and they've given me just 2 portion of chips. The sausages are missing, I've checked my card and I was charged for them. Really disappointed. I won't be back.

Best fish and chips around. Well worth it. Bought myself and the kids sausage and chips and chicken nuggets. Awesome stuff. Good price too

Contented Sole...Discontented customer! Me and missus had 2 x cod (haddock wasn't an option) and a large chips. At first sight the batter looked golden but it was soggy and uncooked. The fish was ok and portion size good but without batter it was bland. The chip portion was ok but they tasted like they were cooked in old overused oil. Upon showing the chippy staff the inedible batter I got a 'sorry' but no offer of replacement/refund. Wish we'd tried the 'Sea Breeze' chippy up the road!
