The Golden Lion in Pembrokeshire

So good we ate here twice in two nights. Food was really high quality and great value. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. There was also a good selection of specials on offer. Sat in the 'shed' and the restaurant another night, both great dining experiences. Tempura prawns, lamb burger, bean burger and eton mess all highlights.

We went here as part of my hen weekend for a fun fancy dress meal! The food was simply excellent and the staff were friendly. They didn't mind too much when half our party were delayed due to car failure either! Service was a little slow but it was a Saturday evening and as half our party was late, we didn't mind too much. After the food arrived no one checked to see if we had everything we needed which was a shame as we didn't have enough cutlery. Also it was unclear if we were supposed to be sharing the portions of potatoes and chips that arrived. When we asked about this we were told someone would come back and let us know but they didn't. We ended up just dividing it up anyway but it would have been good if someone had explained. Despite these little things the overall experience was excellent and so I think the Golden Lion Hotel deserves 5 stars. I recommend a visit if you are in the area. The ribeye steak and goats cheese starter were absolutely divine!!!

We were a party of 8 staying overnight on the way up north. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. We all ate a different main meal, all were large portions, hot, tasty and very well cooked. The breakfast was self service with good hot and freshly cooked food. All the food was very good value.Only gripe was our pillows were flat, otherwise a lovely stay and would definitely go back.

Extremely positive experience. The staff at the bar were very welcoming and enthusiastic. We have been twice in as many days and really enjoyed the food. My personal favourite was the beef burger, some extremely pleasant smoked cheese, well cooked meat, quality bacon and a gorgeous sweet chutney to cut through the savoury flavour all made for a lovely taste! The fishcake special, and scotch egg starters we're also both divine.

We ate here twice whilst staying in the town and the food was amazing on both occasions!! The staff we're also fantastic. There was also a great atmosphere in the pub later on, on Saturday evening and we had a lot of fun with the locals! Highly recommended!

I don't often choose a burger but the burger meal was fantastic. Despite my toddler falling asleep on me before the meal and making it tricky to feed myself, the food remained warm.The staff were great and we'll definitely be back next time we're in West Wales.

We walked in and managed to get a table for 4 in the marquee on a busy saturday evening. Food was amazing, staff very attentive. Place is huge and very popular - would recommend booking. Im sure we will go again before holiday is over

Visited here after having a not-so-good experience at another restaurant in Goodwick not far away.The bar staff on arrival were really friendly and welcoming, a great first impression and asset to the place.We were seated for food in the more formal restaurant area at the back which we were actually grateful for as it was a bit quieter than the bar.Ordered our food which arrived much quicker than we thought (perhaps a bit too quick if we're nit picking!). But was piping hot and tasted great, no complaints at all.Our visit was relatively quick, but we may be returning again later this week! Would definitely recommend to others.

Beautiful place, staff so friendly and accommodating. Excellent value for money, meals were stunning with great service, so much so, we visited again the day after for Sunday lunch. One of the best Sunday dinners ever! :)
