Wonderful hotel with high quality rooms and fantastic customer service. Very attentive to all our needs throughout the stay and the staff were very professional, friendly and really helped make our stay special. The food is very high quality in both restaurants, as well as the breakfast and afternoon tea offered.

Had a travel zoo voucher bought for us for an afternoon tea.(champagne)As we arrived we were greeted and shown our table. Many happy attentive and very well immaculately dressed staff served us.Most beautiful surroundings and I was in awe as I walked in.Only regret I have is not asking if I could have had a look around and explored more and would ve loved to have had an opportunity to see a room. You will not be disappointed on your visit.Thank you everyone if Paul hadn't been driving to and from we would ve stayed for drinks and soaked in the beautiful surroundings and atmosphere for much longer. I wasn't ready to leave xxxx

We stayed here a 2 nights with our small dog.We were a little thrown at the closed gate at the entrance (two discreet signs either side said 'Grove' so we knew we were at the right place). But these are on a sensor and will open when you get close.😉We had one of the cottages, which had a separate bedroom, lounge, bathroom (separate shower, toilet, free standing bath area) and private garden lawned/courtyard/chairs and table soley for our own use. These are small but perfectly formed. The cottage was decorated with rustic charm. If you have a large dog you might have to watch it bump the furniture (one of the rutic old bedside tables was a bit wobbly and and small dog nearly tipped off the lamp brushing by passed it). There were complimentary tea/coffee and fridge drinks in the room (which is unusual, but very nice and appreciated for this type of hotel). There was a 'free from' complimentary snack fruit bar made at the Grove in the fridge too. It was marginally 'free from' taste too... but we'll gloss over that because it was a very nice thought😄. The room was very comfy and our dog liked using the large dog cushion (and the complimentary dog treats left for her). We had a woodburner in the lounge to which made it very pleasant to sit in the evening. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating. We had dinner in the restaurant for a couple of days (not the tasting menu restaurant though), which was very pleasant. We were able to take our dog in to dinner with us (she's very well behaved) and could have taken her to breakfast too if we wanted. The hotel isn't close to anything else, so it was easier to relax there for dinner and not have to worry about driving. There are several lounges and a bar space in the main hotel (dogs only allowed in certain places).Dinner had vegetarian options and breakfast had the usual tradition cooked option along with pancakes and omelettes etc and croissants/yoghurt/fruit salad/porridge type starters etc.We only had a short stay so didn't look around the grounds much, but everything looked very pleasant and very well maintained. There is a walled garden where they grow their own produce and flowers etc. There's also an attractive tree area (cherry?) with tables and chairs at the front of the house, looking over a large pond/small lake, which looked like a lovely place to sit with a drink on a nice day.On leaving we were given some Welsh cakes made at the Grove, which were the tastiest ones we'd had on the trip!

Amazing, perfect place for a break. The rooms are spotless and very comfy. The food in the restaurant is 5 star, ideal place to get away from everything.....

Myself an my wife had lunch at the Grove using a travelzoo voucher, the food was tasty and well presented. The staff were attentive. The surroundings were pleasant. We had driven for one hour and ten minutes to get there, it was well worth the effort.

We had a one night stay in late December and stayed in the Byre sweet. Overall an excellent experience. The outstanding feature of the Grove is the staff. They are very attentive and provide immediate service. The prices are on the high side but to be expected in such an establishment. The food is generally very good. We had an evening meal and breakfast. Generally the food draws on local provides and there is plenty of scope for vegans. The room was very clean with a well stocked complimentary bar. I have no gripes. We had a problem with our door but staff were quick to solve the problem. I would recommend and will go again.

Absolutely fabulous birthday surprise. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Made a total fuss of our little dog Lola who stayed with us. Thanks to everyone.

The hotel is peacefully situated amidst lush countryside and convenient for visiting nearby attractions. My wife and I have just spent a most delightful birthday break in the "Sage" cottage situated within the grounds of the main building . It was luxuriously furnished and just a short stroll from the dining room where we were served the most delicious meals forbreakfast and dinner each day. The resident chef is a master of his art and together with the well trained and curtious staff made our break an absolute pleasure. In comparison to 5☆ hotels in other regions of the UK I would suggest that The Grove stands out as the most comfortable and well appointed, beautifully decorated in authentic style and with impeccable taste. We fully intend to revisit for future family celebrations and we look forward to the pleasure with great anticipation.
