What a really cosy little pub and a very friendly landlady! We were late coming in but the landlady kindly still served us food! I had the seabass cooked in garlic and it was excellent!I will definitely be returning when I'm back in the area again!

Called into the Mason for a pint and decided to have a meal. No welcome as we approached the bar .got a drink and asked about food which we were told would take half a hour that was fine. Being in hospitality trade you would expect a happy friendly welcome. Not sour faces.dont think we will ever go there again.

Nice food. Friendly staff. My family had a lunch here. We all had sirloin steaks, my steak was a bit fatty throughout the steak but I ate around that. Sometimes that can happen unfortunately it was mine. Everyone else's steak were great. No complaints from them.

We arrived as a table of 7, without booking a table but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. I do not feel that any other establishment would have have offered this at such a peak hour.I ordered the home made sticky toffee pudding, and I can honestly say, it was the best pudding I have had since my grandmother cooked it for me.I am very thankful for the service and gourmet meals that we received.

Staff smoking at a front table as we turned up.We seated ourselves, had to get the menus from inside after waiting for table service. Sunday lunches were not on the menu, so I had to go inside again and ask about the options. After the poor service and a starter not being available that was clearly on the menu, we skipped the food completely.Poor experience..

Tried to find somewhere to pop in for dinner with no reservation and came across this place while driving back to our hotel. They made space for us after checking with the kitchen which was nice, though the place wasn't full when we left gone 8pm on a Thursday. I had the burger, which was on its own really good meat and well cooked but let down by what seemed to be a bun from the bottom of the freezer and limp, luke warm, slightly undercooked chips. Guest ale was I think doombar, again a shame as im sure there are some good Welsh ales! Husband had pulled pork hotdog which was nice but again strange hard bun and chips. Plus little flies buzzing around. It seemed locals enjoyed it, and the waitresses were nice. I overheard the poor chef explaining 3 or 4 times they had run out of steak, prawns and bbq sauce... maybe it was an off night but I felt the 4.7 doesn't even fairly begin to compare with the Haven Brasserie we visited the previous night.

Excellent in all respects. A great meal in a warm and cozy atmosphere. A friendly greeting and a welcome pint on a cold and wet evening. I would recommend the Masons for a very pleasant evening out.
