Stopped off here on Wednesday for lunch, after walking the coastal path, ordered a pint and asked if they were serving food only to be told by the lady behind the bar that the new menu was out tomorrow (Thursday 23rd June 22), so we finished our drinks and left. Today (Thursday) we decided to do the same walk, noticed a chalk board sign at the front saying new menu 12 - 3pm so walked in only to be told no food until next Thursday, they lost out on drinks this time, staff said sorry but the way they said it they could not care less. Will not be spending any money there again. The Farmers Inn at Mathry were open for food and far better staff.

The pub serves homemade pizza and homemade chips that were delicious. The pizza base is imported from Italy and cooked in a pizza oven. Cute little village pub with a beautiful garden and views. Would highly recommend if driving past the pub or staying in the area.

Large pub in a small village! Plenty of seating areas inside and out, three cask ales and continental lagers, pizzas and daily specials available from the kitchen.

Brilliant pub, pizza and a pint of Barry Island IPA. Tidy

A really nice pizza, excellent service and a good pint; we used to eat here a lot before it changed hands, then less and less. Now, with a new team at the Ship, there are all the signs that things are getting a great deal better.

Congratulations to Paul for reviving the great atmosphere I remember from when I first started visiting this pub 17 ish years ago. Great pizza and excellent beer. Thank you.

Absolutely delighted to find The Ship sailing once more. With a new team at the helm we really hope that the pub goes from strength to strength. We had an enjoyable evening in a lovely atmosphere. Good luck & best wishes for an outstanding future. Early days as yet but with the team working hard,as witnessed tonight, The Ship will have plain sailing into a wonderful future. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜€ 100%.πŸ‘πŸ‘

The Ship Inn was taken over four days before we arrived by Paul who owns the Old School Hostel, and it was lovely! Very cosy atmosphere, wonderful bar staff, and FANTASTIC pizza. They were accommodating with vegan options and the wine was good. Definitely worth stopping by if walking the Coastal Path.

Had a weekend down here. Paul the landlord and his staff have done well reopening a good old fashioned pub. Pizzas are lovely.

Fantastic pub at the end of a nice coastal walk. As a vegan it was great to see that they offered a vegan option for every meal on the menu, with all vegan dessert options too. We had the Quorn 'fish' and chips and curry, both delicious. Highly recommend.
