Mainly seafood/ grill menu, with a couple of other options. Appears fairly pricy for what it is, but lovely quality and tasty. Generous helpings and more than enough portion size. We had garlic mushroom bruschetta to start, followed by the angry dog burger. The bruschetta was pretty much a meal on its own. Very tasty and good quality.

GO HERE. What a charming pub, not at all touristy and in a beautiful location. The sunset over the water was especially lovely.

Had a great lunch here after a costal walk. You order at the bar and they bring everything out to you, the service was quick and friendly and all the food we had was fresh and delicious! Absolutely can't recommend this enough if you want some fresh seafood.

"An absolute gem of a find today on our trip down west. A beautiful little pub/restaurant with a great menu. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly" Xz

You can't beat this place for location. The outside is glorious on a sunny day and the inside has traditional seaside pub decor; the kind of place you could enjoy quite a few hours at.We visited on 27 April 2022 whilst on holiday and enjoyed the warm sun outside the pub but I was equally tempted by the interesting interior. My wife had the Cod and I had the Sloop Mad Dog (burger) which I thought was *excellent*! The staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. I cannot fault this place and wish I could visit more often.Parking is free but getting there early might be advised, especially in Summer.

Walked over from Abereiddy to Porthgain on the coastal path. A couple of miles so it's an easy hike and beautiful coastline too. Went on a Sunday and booked beforehand online. Was busy when we arrived for lunch, only a couple of tables free.Mid range on the prices but worth it. Not a vast menu and a few specials too. Just the right amount of choice in my opinion.A very nice meal and drinks after a short hike in windy conditions.Highly recommend.

Very pleasant staff, very tasty food, nice pot of tea at the Sloop Inn. Spotless toilets. Stunning place, beautiful old harbour, amazing views from the clifftop, and the harbour wall. I'm definitely coming back. 👌🤓

Food was amazing. Loved traditional quirky decor. Friendly staff. Must go back. Veggie sausages and mash/ beef burger and chips. Pannacotta/brownie desserts. Plenty of local food options esp seafood

Traditional pub in a lovely location in Porthgain. Friendly and efficient staff. Outdoor seating for a relaxed meal at any time of day. Good menu and daily specials. I tried the Welsh Glamorgan sausages, they were so so tasty and my husband had steak which was cooked to perfection. Great spot, would definitely go again if in the area.Book in advance during summer months, they are busy!

O! M! G! I had the best pub dinner here; would highly, highly, highly recommend! Ordered a classic staple: Mussels in a cider sauce with garlic and onions. What a treat! The food was served fast, and, in the mere wait that it was, we were able to view the quant harbour. The atmosphere was lively, bustling and rather busy (but it was no issue for us not to book and there was hardly a delay on gaining a table). One issue we and some neighboring tables perceived was the fact that we were clueless about the chips as a side with the burgers (which were absolute whoppers). We ordered extra chips on top, unbeknownst to us that we would have too many! I must reiterate, the price may look expensive, but for the quality and aesthetic of the food, it is very well worth it. The interior of the inn was nautical themed -as it should be as a harbour-side Inn- and was informative to the local history at Porthgain. Parking was a nightmare, yet opportunities arose with extra spaces being available. It was pleasant to see visitors and local children playing on the fields outside the restaurant area, but a shame that we couldn't sit by the harbour wall to eat. Will 💯% be back to order some more food.
