I'm sure it's lovely. But it was impossible to get a booking. Not because they were full but because their service is bad.I spent a couple of weeks calling as we knew we'd be in town on a particular day. No answer. I get that they close in the middle of the day, but apparently they don't answer the phones then either. Or when they're open. The answer machine told us to leave a message and they'd get back to us. I left a message. My partner left a message.Nothing.We called in on the off chance, got there at opening time, and they said they were full (must have had about 50 people all turning up by 7pm, I guess).

Unbelievably good food and drink with fantastic service - we could not recommend more highly. We book in well before our holiday every year. The absolute best restaurant in Newport.

We had some lovely wine and cheese and chatted with the charming ladies that served us. Thank you.

My family and I visited Tides whilst on holiday in Pembrokeshire. We found this to be the best restaurant we visited during our stay. Whilst the prices will seem expensive at first glance, the food and drinks are served to a very high quality and in an innovative way. Highly recommend

One of the best seafood meals for a long time. Well thought flavours, inspired cooking backed up by great front of house. Get a table if you can

One of the best (3 course) meals we've ever eaten. We were very lucky to get a table last minute & will definitely book in advance next time we're in the area. The scallops, crab & lobster were all superb.

Just about as good as restaurants get. Fabulous, imaginative seafood, excellent wines (the Albarino is stunning) and charming staff.

Gorgeous food with subtle flavours, excellent wine selection, lovely staff. Such a great atmosphere too. Would recommend to anyone who is staying locally.

Some friends invited us for a meal. Just loved the food, really tasty, good service and a good wine list. We had a meal a few weeks ago at Rick Steins in Marlborough and this was heads and shoulders above what we had. Yes it's quite pricey but food was worth it.

This should be the Michelin Star of cafes/wine bars/small restaurant. Very particular about the menu, with the chef poring over amazing recipe books. My soup and puff pastry pastie was amazing. My wife had a sourdough smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Everything is home made. I spent half an hour with the chef discussing how she made her sourdough bread, and was willingly given her recipe, (see the result in the photograph that I baked with the Dutch oven method). The staff do their utmost to help. Not our first visit, and definitely not the last.
