Never fails..excellent food..attentive staff

Bad staff attitude, menu not detailed so unsure what to order. Portion of ice cream in milkshake was poor so that just tastes of milk/nothing. Wasnt asked for toppings etc.

Went in for dessert just. When placing order I asked what was the dessert of the day as it is listed on menu staff member was very rude with his response and told me that don't do things like that and to just pick something that's on the menu so I picked the chocolate muffin and fresh cream, the chocolate muffin was so so dry and the fresh crea was far from fresh and is clearly just tinned cream. Staff need to check there manners because at the end of the day no customers no money it's simple and maybe If yous aren't providing an option you should just take it off the menu completely.

Visited Friday and Sunday. Have to say on both days food was lovely . Staff are Very helpful and friendly . We Definitely be back . Recommend a visit

I never leave reviews but I felt that on this occasion fore-warning was warranted. I feel very generous leaving a one star review after my experience but there was no option for zero or half stars. If reviewing staff attitude alone this place would be in minus territory.The staff were both incompetent and rude, and unapologetic about it. I had to stand at entrance and wait 15 minutes to be seated in a cafe with only 2 small groups in it. A further half hour elapsed, during which 5 other groups were seated and had their orders collected before my group of 4.When I flagged down staff to place an order I received not so much as an apology and was told I was wrong and hadn't been here as long. During this time 2 of the later groups were served their food and I was told I could be waiting a while as they were now busy.My wife ordered ice-cream and was told her flavours were not available and to order differently, which she did. Whilst waiting for our order we checked the ice cream stand and all flavours were present. When asked if the order could be amended we were again told we were wrong, the ice cream was unavailable, and that the waitress has checked.The food was exceptionally good and the only redemptive feature of the experience, but honestly, not worth the hassel.If the company didn't want my money they just had to say so. I would advise management to review their staff if they want their business to survive.Here's a photo of an empty table. You'll be looking at it for a while, as well as the food when it arrived an hour and a half later.

Delicious food, the Sundae's and crepe's have a lot of eating in them so we shared them amongst 5 of us and it was the perfect amount along with a mocha. Beautiful location looking out on Newcastle main street and up at Slieve Donard and Commedagh. Highly recommend after a long hike to finish off your evening here.

Been going to Maud's for 20 years. Always was a great place for a sandwich or ice cream! But more now with table service resumed after years because of Covid. Please consider keeping table service and payment upon ordering when Covid restrictions come down. Oh and big fan of the plant-based ice-cream and veg options, fantastic to see and avail of, thanks

Lovely little spot for breakfast or lunch. Can get busy so be prepared to queue but it is really worth it.Breakfast was all great, fantastic selection of healthy options as well as some amazing fresh, homemade cakes.Lunch menu caters for everyone and includes hot food as well as lovely sandwiches and wraps.Don’t leave without getting some ice cream- best around!
